I wonder if Pac was FOTY preceding the KTFO6. Donaire was FOTY then got schooled by Rigo.

 Algieri was an unproven, the oddsmakers knew that which is why Pacquiao was a heavy betting favorite.

A case can also be made that Tim Bradley has lost his last 4 fights.
If Pacquiao is named fighter of the year, thats a weak pick in a weak year of big fights.

Mauricio Herrera would be on this list in the top group if he had got what he deserved in Puerto Rico.

My vote goes to Pacquiao beat the Ring Ranked #2 in his division, who was #PFP in Bradley and beat the Ring Ranked #3 in the division below, meeting him halfway in weight. Both were world champions.

Stevenson won Ring Magazine fighter of the year.

Kovalev, then GGG. Both were totally dominant, the former wiped the floor with Hopkins like no one ever has.

Floyd shouldn't even be in this conversation.... He very arguably got a gift the first fight with Chino, heretofore a 'good' brawler, but by no means a solid top 5 in the division. Chino did well with the break he was given for beating the B level Broner, but lets be serious, Floyd took a beating the first fight.

You can say Bradley won, but you've got to be a complete idiot to not acknowleadge the fight was close.

I think Golovkin should be in the poll, possibly Amnat too.

I want to say GGG or Kovalev. They may not have fought any legit comp (Kovalev did and all, but Hopkins is 49...) but they dismantle the unworthy the way a dominant fighter is suppose to.

Pac probably has the highest profile win, but did Bradley get it for beating him and Marquez? No, because everyone picked Pac as the winner... The rematch was just righting a wrong... Everyone knew how the fight would go, and it was actually a lot harder the second time around... And Bradley was injured...

Pac vs Bradley is like Floyd vs Marquez... Marquez is a top ELITE p4p fighter, but Floyd is just on that ATG level... If they rematched, and Floyd beat him just as easily as he did the first time around, who would vote Floyd as the fighter of the year?

    1) Kovalev, biggest win of his career
    2) Roman Gonzalez, becoming a 3 division world champion.

Kovalev is getting too many votes. 12-0 win against Hopkins = very good. Wins over Caparello and Agnew were not much better than meaningless.

Pacquiao's win over Bradley > win over Hopkins at this stage
Pacquiao's win over Algieri > wins over Agnew and Caparello
