    Kovalev is on pace to get his revenge on Inoue (coming in 3rd in F'erOTY voting behind Inoue & Crawford)

    Funny, I don't remember anyone calling Dawson the Fighter of the Year in 2012 or claiming his was the year's best performance. :think

    (and yes, I get that Kovalev did far better than Dawson...but he also fought a version of Hopkins that was 2.5 years older...)

    Well....I'm sure Inoue will start gaining ground...now that you have started personally campaigning for him again, as you did in the FOTY thread.

    Hey, people can stump for any performance they want (just as they could for any boxer in the other poll)

    I'm the poll runner but I also have my opinion. There's no real conflict there.

    (I couldn't rig a vBulletin poll if I even wanted - not with mere mod privileges...that requires admin at least, if not super admin access)

    I disagree. I think there is a conflict because you wear a mod badge and there are those that will side with you because they feel that it will put them on your good side. You are making it clear who you want to win the poll and it influences these type of people.

    I wouldn't be surprised if some that voted for Inoue hadn't even seen him fight in the FOTY thread.

    What the hell good does being "on my good side" do anybody? How many bans do you see me handing out (and going further - when have you ever heard of someone who deserved a ban getting a "get outta jail free" card from me because of them kissing ass)? What special favor do you think can be curried from me? What kind of preferential treatment do you suppose I'm empowered to dole out?

    Look at the names on the poll(s), and you'll see the people who voted Inoue as F'erOTY (and those rating the Narváez kayo as POTY) are pretty well known for how much they KSAB, and specifically for how much they follow the entire global scene, including the Orient. In fact, quite a few of them know a good deal more about the Asian boxing scene than I do.

    I never said that you did hand out "get outta jail free cards." I said that, because you are a mod, your opinion influences others and you know that too; otherwise, you wouldn't bother stumping for your personal favorite to win. You also see more fights than anyone else on this site and posters think it makes them look like they KSAB by agreeing with you.

    Oh, one more thing, you're stupid.

    In terms of significance, I would say GGG vs Geale or Pacquiao vs Bradley. Both Geale and Bradley had beaten all their previous opponents. (I thought Geale got robbed against Barker.)

    In terms of excitement, it has to be either Klitschko or Povetkin.

    Why is everyone voting for Kovalev and Inoue? The opponents were clearly past their prime, and the fights weren't nearly as exciting as Klitschko, Povetkin and Golovkin's.

    I would guess because, even though their opponents were past prime, their opponents were also more accomplished than Klitschko's, Povetkin's, and Golovkins, with Bhop being an ATG. Plus, the opponents of Kovalev and Inoue were never so soundly dominated.

    But I'm just speculating, though. Who knows why people do what they do?:huh
