Yeah. It depends on how much value is placed on quality of opponent.

Take Pacquaio for an easy example. His performance over Aleigri was really good (120-102) but while he didn't dominate Bradley as much, Bradley was highly rated P4P at the time. So which win would make it (or be closest to making it) onto this nomination list?

It's just hard to compare or rate the likes of Spike's win against the likes of Pacquaio's over Bradley without pretty clear criteria.

Yeah. I'd actually given thought to including Crawford vs. Gamboa, but didn't want to get carried away with repeats (Inoue being the only person who really had two exemplary world class standout performances) and the Beltran performance was just flat out better. Gamboa is better than Beltran p4p and maybe the more stock-raising notch on Bud's coup stick, but he bagged rounds off Crawford and is undeniably smaller. Beltran on the other hand was a big strong natural lightweight considered top 5 h2h by pretty much everybody, and Crawford pitched a shutout.

Amir Khan over Devon Alexander and Tyson Fury over Dereck Chisora could be mentioned in terms of the losers in each case being solid contenders being dismantled and outclassed pretty much from start to stop. Or Alvarez over Angulo?

For me, it's Gonzalez-Yaegashi. Yaeg fought his ass off in that fight and really gave Roman everything he could handle.

Matthysse and Lee both had really bad stretches those nights. You could maybe say in-fight comebacks of the year but performances? When some of the guys listed already were flawless? Against better opposition? :think

Pac vs. Bradley was close. (I and II both were)

    Cotto beat a legless Martinez.

    Thurman vs. Bundu, good shout.

Khan vs. Alexander, dominant yes but Alexander's stock dipped pretty low after the Porter loss. (and I'm not sure beating JSK had brought it all the way back up)

    Brook vs. Porter, yeah, maybe.

    Povetkin vs. Takam, yes.

Walters vs. Donaire was already on my list. :huh

Porter vs. Malignaggi was unexpected, but Paulie is just done.

Estrada vs. Segura was dominant but sad to watch; Segura had nothing. He's shot.

    Vazquez vs. Shafikov, good shout.

How the hell do you call a crippled Martinez, Alexander one bout removed from his embarrassing loss to Porter, overrated hype job Porter himself, and shot to bits Segura "elite" but not consider Bundu, Shafikov, or Takam elite? :?

Bundu, Shafikov, and Takam are currently very high up there h2h, able to mix with anyone in their division and beat all but 2-3 guys in their divisions on a given night. You can't say that of Martinez, Alexander, Porter or Segura.

Someone forgot about KING KHANs schooling of world class boxer Devon Alexander in 12 rounds of brutal domination. A boxing masterclass unparalleled in 2014

Also DeGales casual destruction of Gonzales... a hyped unbeaten fighter who according to Virgil Hunter gave Ward fits in sparring :deal

    Going for Inoue TKO2 Narvaez.

If Kovalev had stopped B-Hop in the final round he would have been my man, but he didn't. So Gojira Inoue it is.
