If he does finally step up then I suspect you are right. I would love to see Wilder succeed his combination of size, speed and power would be a breath of fresh air in this poor heavyweight era.

But the signs are all there. The massively over protected career, the knock downs vs journeymen and the KO's as an amateur suggest he is hiding the finest crystal glass jaw.

Even if he did have a decent jaw he is riddled with technical deficiencies that would make him vulnerable.

He is in no position to get exposed. Everybody expects him to lose against his first live opponent and absolutely EVERYONE know that his record is padded to death.

 

Wilder can hit, but he can't take a punch, and might not even have 10 round stamina.

He'll be exposed if he faces another puncher, or tough journeyman ( Wilson ) type with durability that takes him into the later rounds.

 

I doubt he manages to step up.

He's gonna fight Maskaev in a mega blockbuster by the end of the year.
