    Devil's Advocate Time! :happy

    * Douglas may be struggled with Michel Soro, but let's not forget that Soro is very good, and has gone on to blast out a favored Glen Tapia and Blandamura in their oponent's back yard. Soro's a world class guy- and I personally would argue that he's undefeated, having given him the nod against Baysungurov (sic I'm sure).

Douglas may have struggled with Soro in the latter portion of the fight, but he worked his way through it and did enough good work early to make the draw a legit result. So a draw against a high-level opponent is actually pretty noteworthy.

Plus he rebounded by stopping LaManna, so Action's progress is still worth charting.

Boo Boo Andrade, Errol Spence, Sadam Ali, Erickson Lubin....

    All great American MWs.

There simply being managed properly by starting in their lowest comfortable WEIGHT CLASS.

That's what is absolutely ret@rded about EE managers/promoters....

They take their prospects and start them of at the highest possible weight class they're comfortable in.

Just look how Haymon is managing Beterbiev.
The guy weighs like 200 e easy on fightnight, but Haymon smartly builds him up at the lowest weight class possible for him.

And while he builds his brand, making Beterbiev a household name in America and Canada, he's protecting his lesser LHW TITLIST so when the timings right.....He can feed him to the monster LHW.

Then, he'll pit him against some decent but B level contenders, further building his brand before finally he can't boil down any longer, but he CAN PRETEND TO MOVE HIM N TO 200.

    Euro promoters are awful.

Imagine what GGG would be had he started at LWW.

Look how arum is handling Lomachenko.

American promoters know how to build illusions.

Loma will conquer 3, maybe 4 weigh classes and achieve ATGNESS b/c of how well arum is handling him.

If you notice, here in America most fans say 140-154 are the best divisions in boxing. Probably because those are the only weights that has any decent American fighters. My fellow Americans have been saying that Heavyweight has been weak for years, now they are saying that 160,175 and Cruiser are weak. I wonder why that is? Oh, because we don't have any good fighters and they don't like to give any credit to European fighters.
I feel sorry for Euro haters, because this is just the beginning. The amateurs are dominated by Europeans and Asian fighters. So don't hate and appreciate these different styles. I get the feeling more and more will start turning pro. 160-Heavy will probably be dominated by these fighters.
I guess you guys are lucky that smaller European fighters don't turn pro, but they might just start doing it. Soon, Loma will not be the only Euro fighter in the smaller weights. I hope not, because unlike most I actually really like the styles these guys are bringing.

They bring excitement in to boxing, which is what boxing needs right now, not the whole clinch/hug/run/potshot affair.

    Yes they do.
I'm already trying to find the next European prodigy like Lomachenko was. I really enjoy Loma's style, as well as Beterbiev, Kovalev, GGG and well there is so many to list. But my fav. has to be Loma, the way he mixes offense and defense is phenomenal and hopefully he get the next Loma pretty soon lol (for selfish reasons).

Lubin is looking good though, I love his "sharpshooter" style.

Russian middleweights absolutely burned it up this year.

    Korobov crushed it.

And Fedor Chudinov proved to be elite.

Actually, what nation did well at middleweight?

Kazakstan continues to burn it up with only one contestant. Miguel Cotto also had a good year.

The trend continues. Webster got dropped twice by Magomedov and lost 99-89 on all 3 scorecards. Another undefeated American Middleweight has his 0 taken from him.

Douglas seems to be the only vaguely worthwhile Amurican he stopped Szili in 3.
