Depends. He will probably become a mando for Glowacki and this fight will be decisive for his career. But why would 2016 be a break-out year? He's already made his mark on the division. If he wins the title, then we'll see, but I doubt that 2016 will be a year of unifying titles in CW.
Well apparently the reason his opposition hasn't been getting better is because no one will fight him. If he wants a breakout year it will have to come from being a mandatory (he's already WBO #1) but since Glowacki's promoter has some sort of affiliation with Haymon who knows. I don't see Glowacki dropping the belt but hopefully Haymon or a Huck rematch don't kill it somehow. Also perhaps with Chakhkiev and Kudryashov losing and being out of title contention in the near future Ryabinskiy will finally allow Lebedev to unify. If Usyk wins and it's still hard to get quality voluntaries maybe that's available.
If there's one thing that has made the CW division in recent years, its that the best mostly don't fight each other. When was the last unification fight at cruiser?
Yeah it's been bollox. Remember when we had Huck, Afolabi, Diablo, Cunningham and Hernanadez as the top five? Not a good rate of meets between those guys. Compare it to the flyweight division of a couple of years ago and how often the top boys met each other there.
