Either Bisping or Whitaker for the interim. UFC has a great history of forcing champs to either face the interim or vacate.

Let's see the title united and then defended against Jacare.

Cormier has a chance here to go down as a true great. He has the talent and now he finally has the chance to prove it.

The Strikeforce championship, that was good. Beating an old Henderson and an old Silva, that was good also.

Beating a prime Johnson and prime Gustaffson is just short of great.

Beating Jones though and he finally steps out of the shadow and into the greatness.

The problem is, with the LHW division right now, where does the winner go from here?

The options are limited to Gustaffson, Teixera and then probably a past prime version of Rua

 

In an ideal world Cormier would fight Manuwa next and winner of Gus/Jones 2 gets the next shot.

 

Manuwa Vs Rua should probably happen.

 

It'll make a great competitive fight, don't get me wrong.

The only problem is DC will have spent like 4 years fighting 3 people lol.

 

I think Manuwa's recent run of dominant KO wins over top 10 opponents warrants a shot. He's also the only guy at the top of the LHW mix who hasn't gotten a crack at the title yet.

 

That's probably because the 2 who've beaten him have got shots instead.

At best I'd say next fight should be a rematch with Gus and the winner gets a title shot.
