Yea ended up going with Rigo because of all the talk he did on social media before the fight.. his supporters are still salty and don't give Loma credit. Ohara Davies getting stopped did put a smile on mine face tho lol can't stand him. He gave it the big talk and got humiliated big time.
What does a "humbling loss" even mean? Another term for upset? Factoring in pre-fight expectation? Pre-fight trash talk? Roman Gonzalez was P4P King so his losses warrant a shout out. Kovalev did the most serious trash talking beforehand and got stopped by the guy he claimed hit like a girl so likely him.
My favorite humbling of 2017 was Garcia/Broner. If Broner ever learns the difference between confidence and arrogance, he will move up a level as a fighter.
De Gale vs Truax without a doubt. Truax was a MW who wasnt even in the top 100 at that class, and had been ICED in 1 round and was coming over to lose. De Gale was the man at SMW and at the time the consensus number 1. What happened in that fight was the shock of the year. De Gale wilted in the ring and Truax beat the living daylights out of him almost stopping him in the 5/6th.
Remember when Truax was pegged as a Ward opponent on HBO and they weren't having any of it? They let him fight a couple relative scrubs for big money but wouldn't stand for Truax. Yeah, so that's the guy DeGale lost to. Hmm. If I'm his adviser, cash out to the biggest offer no matter what. And the offers should be flying in.
