2018 boxing hall of fame class. Klitschko, Morales and Dariusz Michalczewski to be enshrined?

    I hope Donald gets in but I doubt he will. He lost so badly to Mike McCallum and Honeyghan, fights he was in his prime for. How long to they keep the names for consideration.

    I think it will wind up being Vitali, Morales, and Hatton. I think there are a couple more deserving than Hatton, but these are the 3 I believe will be inducted.

    Hatton would be really undeserving. The UK has the political pull, though. Similar to McGuigan, he has that one great (on paper) win - McGuigan over Pedroza and Hatton over Tzyu - both catching those long reigning champs at the right time - and little else.

    Hatton's best wins were Tzyu, Castillo, and Vince Phillips and they were all past it - Castillo and Phillips were shells of what they had been and Tzyu was 36 and declining, although not as badly as Castillo and Phillips.

    McGuigan really doesn't belong in the hall of fame, but you're right. The UK has some pull and they all stick together. Most hall of fames have rules where the person must get over a certain percentage of the votes to quality. The boxing hall of fame doesn't. On merit, I think Hatton did just enough to get in a year without many top stars.
