WTH....... I'm not complaining though. This is a very interesting moment in the short history of the sport.
WMK: Oezdemir KO1; Johnson UD wide; Cirkunov KO2; Soukhamthath UD wide; Villante UD close; Garcia UD wide; Strickland UD close; Bhullar UD wide.
Never been a fan of Askren or how he fights but am glad we get to see him in the UFC against legit competition which he never really had while in ONE. I can see him beating a few of the ranked UFC fighters but I'm looking forward to seeing him get exposed by some of the top guys who I feel are better all round fighters then the 1 dimensional Askren
Isn't Askren retired? Bizarre move to say the very least. I personally would've liked to see Johnson get the opportunity to avenge his loss to Cejudo. He deserved it being the longest reigning champion in the history of the company (I don't count Silva over him due to the latter artificially extending his reign with periodical non-title bum fights), not to mention it was a close, competitive fight.
I agree I would have liked to see him at least get a rematch before he left, from what I have heard the Johnson trade is the 1st move before UFC get rid of the division totally
They won't straight away but I wouldn't be surprised if they did in a few years after Cyborg retires if there is no interest and nobody watches like the mens flyweight fights. I could see INVICTA being the home of WMMA in the future with only the occasional big fight being part of UFC shows
Yeah I'd be ok with that. But they've gone way too far in shoving it down our throats. This is what I've called for a long time. Everyone's happy that way.
