Fair point in general.

However Nyika is good enough to win a medal even against a better field, there are going to be plenty of less deserving medallists.

It's not just boxing either. In the F46 javelin a bronze was earned with a throw which was only just over HALF the difference of the gold or silver throws.

 

Don't bring irrelevant technicalities like 12,000 miles or so into this and spoil a quality rant!

Also there isn't really ever any third place box off for bronze medals at most major boxing tournaments

 

Ya its a shallow weak tournament, that's why a commonwealth medalist isn't really seen as much of an achievement in amateur boxing.

Iv no idea, it has never been really done in amateur boxing, they only have 3rd place play offs when its qualification events
