Am I the only one who's pretty fired-up about the current heavyweight landscape?

Probably not but we have a multiple belt holder who's as stiff as a robot, another titlist who just swings from back there with hail mary's and a gobshite who's style is very boring.

Am I excited, not really although will watch the fights out of curiousity

I genuinely am excited. Far more so than I've been about the weight class since the immediate aftermath of Lewis retiring.

TBH heavyweight boxing has not been the same since the 90's and the Klit era did little to inspire. I can see where you are coming from as there's some genuine doubt who will win when they fight. I do think Fury may need more fights before his step up but he has some ability to fustrate Wilder, personally I think Deontay will come out on top. As far as Wilder v AJ it could be interesting but here's the thing, I am not sold on Joshua and I am from England. I think even if AJ wins his reign will be short. I fancy Wilder to come out on top just because of his punch power and I think AJ's chin is exposable

Fair points all, and even though you do not necessarily share my level of enthusiasm, I definitely believe we're on the same general page.

I’m with you. We might be on the cusp of one of the greatest HW eras of all time. Perhaps even the best.

We got Joshua, Fury, Wilder who are imo three clearly elite HWs who will probably all go down as ATGs.

And there’s a healthy pool of talent under them: Pulev, Povetkin, Miller, Parker, Takam, Ortiz, Whyte, and more.

On top of that you have Usyk, Bellew and Gassiev who will bring even more dynamicism to the ranks.

I think its interesting and some great characters to hype it all up n I think usyk is the real x factor to top it of.
For me the characters involved is the real draw, not really sold on how the fights will turn out. Fury and usyk r good boxers but kinda boring, wilders got some flaws and joshue I'm not to sure but seems good.
Lewis, holy field n bowe are far superior fighters and I don't think these fights will be at the level of lewis holy n bowe.
    Definitely be watching though.

The competition between AJ, Wilder and Fury is interesting. However, when I look at the rest of the heavyweight field, I’m not all that excited.

Joshua has already dispatched half of them (Povetkin, Parker, Breazeale, Whyte) and I suspect he’ll need to cover off a few more before he gets his shot at Wilder (who I think will beat Fury, if and when they meet). Meanwhile, either Wilder or Fury will have plenty of options to take, other than making the fight with Joshua.

The top 4 men are good, but flawed.

Povetkin & Joshua. At age 39 Povetkin, looked good early, buckling Joshua's knees, and having him holding on in the next round, but age caught up to Povetkin as he slowed down. Joshua eventually nailed him with tremendous shots. Joshua can't control distance, and dare I say looked more like Wilder in this fight, with his power bailing him out. If Povetkin was a few years younger ( say the fight happened in 2015 ) , I think he'd win it.

Fury & Wilder. Fury is the real wild card. Can he get back to where he was? A runner boxer type with extremely long reach. Wilder remains a big puncher with modest skills, and I think a suspect chin that won't hold up. But he also hits the hardest.

The common theme? All of this four best wins have come from OLD MEN.

    Joshua, ( Wald 41, and Povetkin 39 )
    Fury ( Wlad 39 )
Wilder ( Ortiz 38-41 depending on who you ask )

I still think Joshua is the best for now, but we might also have seen him peak.

Whyte, who is improved can beat all three on any given night.

No because Joshua is steering clear of Wilder.
