I feel like you are unclear on what "FOTY" means. (hint: not synonymous with "really good fight", more of a relative term...and you by definition can't have multiple in the same year)
I forgot to type in candidates. To me, a FOTY is violent w/ high octane action and !@#% me! moments... Golovkin looking like he could have been taken out by Deveryanchenko Spence hurt and taken deep by Porter Thurman landing nuclear warheads on old man Pacquiao; old man Pacquiao dropping and busting Keith up Joshua-Ruiz for the high drama and dramatic finish Inoue-Donaire for hellacious shots landed by both guys and the threat of the cut
This has been an absolutely fantastic year for boxing; devastating knockouts, amazing fights, shocking upsets, legends reestablishing themselves, history being made (Canelo being only the second man to hold three weight-division titles simultaneously) and up-and-comers making their presence felt. Even with the tragedies throughout the year ( ), this has got to have been one of the best years of the sport, recency bias be damned.
