In the next 4-5 months, we're looking at a number of undisputed champions. Ramirez-Taylor Castano-Charlo Fury-Joshua Canelo-Plant. Cant remember the last time there was this many fights for undisputed in such a short time period. Great for the sport.
Take this into consideration. In the 2010's there were 3 undisputed title bouts - Crawford vs Indongo and Usyk vs Gassiev and Bellew. 2021 there will be FOUR undisputed fights.
Maybe because the bodies are dishing out belts like feckin candy-cane it's easier to make undisputed fights? See Tank moving up to for for a 'shot at Barrios title' Nowadays anyone can say they are a champ, it cheapens the Undisputed term IMO
Sounds nice on paper but when you consider that i.e Plant to date has zero top level experience & his best win is a boring decision over an old Caleb Truax who was coming off a MD win against a retired 42 year old Ugandan that no one has ever heard of it kinda deflates it somewhat .. I like the Taylor & Fury unifications tho
I'm not so sure. For example one weight class: Crawford, while I think is nice guy, had best boxer during his all life in the ring exactly called by some posters as bum Mean Machine. Even post injury Spence Jr or senior citizen Pacman for him still looks that were not his preferences to have in the ring. Best high level fights 2020-2021 we had : Povetkin from Klits era ( bad era with low concurrence according to a lot of posters ) an Pulev , then Chisora, too from the same era and what else we had? A.J vs Ruiz II. Sorry, Povetkin had dealt with Takam in the same round as A.J years later vs Takam. Damn. I really will not buy any further talks in 2021 th until fights really will happen. Enough that at HW we had Povetkin from Klits era vs Whyte and Pulev from Klits era vs A.J and also: Chisora from Klits era vs Usyk and Parker. Nothing much more. Hunter vs Hrgovic looks that will not happen. I do not think that Hrgovic is top 25 material until he will be proven but sorry, if Hunter who had beated up no one at CW and no one at HW is considered as better material cos he get gift draw vs 40 y.o legless over the hill Povetkin's ghost, then sorry, division sucks as hell while Hunter liked me damn a lot cos he had proven: he had balls to have prime Usyk's version in the ring. Current Usyk for me looks over the hill version.
