Good info @DramaShow - cheers. There's zero doubt I'll end up watching more Matchroom events than others in the last quarter of this year, purely on volume - but in all honesty, there's no more than 3 I'd put in the diary. Which is probably 3 more than the other promotions put together. Suspect my son will talk me into getting him the Fury-Ngannou fight and that's it.
Copied from twitter… December boxing could look like this: • Garcia-Duarte • Haney-Prograis • Top Rank Heisman Night • Inoue-Tapales • Bam-Edwards • Fury-Usyk
Against Rafael Espinoza? Hopefully he can unify against Lopez next as they are both with Top Rank. Disappointing they are clashing with Haney vs Prograis. I guess they have no choice as Matchroom have events on both December 9 and December 16 in the US, unless they go on the Friday.
They go on the Saturday straight after the Heisman Ceremony which is why they do a NY show. This year the Heisman is on a Sunday night for some reason so there is no NY Saturday show. Wouldn’t surprise me if they pull that 9th December card completely as I doubt Ramirez in Florida will do much.
Would have been good, but I think it’s a decent idea to put him on the night before the Grand Prix starts. I think they will have to do lots and lots of comps to fill the T Mobile though. Arum was waiting for the thumbs up from Teo for that date, but he’s got to sort himself out before he gets back in the ring. Loads of personal issues and demons. I heard a rumour this week that he was boxing Tank early next year, but it’s probably BS. We all know Davis picks and chooses who and whom, where and when and for secondary titles only. I find it bizarre as he has lots of skills and power.
I said after Teo beat Taylor that I doubt we’d see him for 12 months. He’s just surrounded by loonies - his parents (although his dad seems to have mellowed slightly and admitted a few mistakes) and his ex missus.
