    Wilder-Parker Compubox stats:

    Wilder threw 204, landed 39

    Parker threw 255, landed 89

One judge had Wilder losing 0-12 (as do Boxrec), the consensus score on the official cards was 10-2 Parker.

Wilder would be 38.5-39, more physically worn, very likely more mentally damaged. He's got 12 rounds under his belt now but how much will he be active in he gym? And will he go on another ayahuasca binge?

Wilder has one win (Helenius) since November 2019, 1-3 in his last four fights.

Franklin went 50-50 with a post-Fury Whyte and lost 3-9 on the official cards to Joshua (0-12 Boxrec). Neither put a dent in him.

Assuming fair scorecards I'd pick Franklin to beat Wilder at this stage. I'd probably pick Jack Massey too.

Probably a decent fight, and a good yardstick test for Wilder. Franklin is better than he gets credit for I think - good head movement and hand speed. Overall unexceptional, but certainly no bum (as some people love to throw around his way).

I think he gives Wilder issues until Deontay finds him anytime in the second half. But probably another come from behind type eraser.

Franklin is the kind of guy Wilder needs to be fighting right now. He's not a no defense glass jawed stiff that's tailor made for him. He is durable enough with just good enough defense to make Wilder work for the KO while not having the power to threaten Wilder.

Not to take anything away from Parker; he was a wide underdog and did the business. He took the fight that Hearn/Joshua were not yet brave enough to take. It was a solid performance and Parker dominated.

But the fact remains that Wilder is mentally shot. The only time he really threw punches was after Parker had hit him, almost just to keep him off and deter him. Wilder had no interest in engaging in the fight, it was eerily reminiscent of Scott's final career performance against Ortiz (without Wilder diving to the canvas a few times). He even alluded to retirement after the fight. Wilder is done with boxing and more or less has been since Fury 3 in 2021.

This version of Wilder (or a more degraded version, as we may very well get) isn't beating a half-decent durable gatekeeper like Franklin in my estimation.

Wilder has never even proven he's the best on his own domestic scene, let alone best in the world so Jermaine Franklin would at least be a start. I'll say one thing for Franklin, he's got the minerals to at least give it a go, although the thing that continues to surprise me is just how stout Wilder's chin is. His whole physique, particularly his ridiculously thin legs defies the laws of physical durability. By rights a solid 250+ lb HW should steam roll right through Wilder so I give him props there. Franklin would probably have the odd interesting moment before getting cracked between rounds 4 and 6.

Oh damn.... Franklin would make Wilder look really bad.

I also start to doubt about Wilder's right. After all ... Maybe that right was never as good. Foreman, Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Shavers, Liston, Klitschko, even AJ ......... They have better punching power. Wilder's looks powerfull only against washed up or CW fighters.

Realistically Wilder should stop Franklin without any difficulty, Franklin became overrated after good fights with Whyte and Joshua and Joshua if he wasn't gun shy could have taken him apart at any time...

Franklin would outbox Wilder easily, and he has the chin and defensive prowess not to get taken out.

Wilder needs to be fighting guys like Ali Eren Demirezen or even drag Adam Kownacki out of retirement (he is retired, isn't he?) in order to have some winnable fights that aren't total trash. Chisora would also be a good yardstick if he wants to come over to the UK, though I suspect he's Stateside from here on out.

Franklin is still a random that was picked as a Whyte warmup, happened to do better than expected, and lasted with AJ, but has no actual name wins..

"Wilder has never even proven he's the best on his own domestic scene"

He had 10 consecutive defences and beat Ortiz, who had previously outboxed and KO'd non-titlist Jennings (who was the other top American prospect along with Wilder at the time). Is Ruiz American or Mexican? Whatever category he falls into, he wasn't considered a factor until he one-hit wondered Joshua and Wilder had done far better against their mutual opponents of substance (Morales, Liakhovich).

I think Wilder is totally finished and has been since his 2nd defeat, so I'd take Franklin to outpoint him. I'd be intrigued by Wilder-Ortiz 3. Ortiz will be 45+ but he looked like he still had more left than Wilder does now in his last fight.
