Joshua's overrated, stiff, musclebound, pompous ass gets handed to him by a cruel, vindictive Holmes.

I know right? And remember when he turned his back on the ref, who gave him at least 20 seconds to try and recover... It's just hilarious that the modernists, who have all the posters of AJ, Fury, and Wilder, Crawford, Spence, and Thurman on their wall, start matching these guys with ATG's like Larry Holmes, Hearn's, SRR, Duran, etc... I have seen it all and trying to build their case against them. It doesn't matter that these coddled fighters of today who are brought along for 1 or 2 fights a year won't even get in the ring with each other.. They have what? 1 fight between the 6 names I mentioned? They want to give them the credit and this ATG status without first the competition of fighting each other... It doesn't matter as long as the posters stay up on the wall !!

yes out worked before marvis changed stile to be more like Joe .AJ would be a huge slow target for smith similar to the Bruno fight but wouldn't go so late .

Holmes too savvy to not capitalise on AJ's gassing.

That's a lie, I did an average, it was above 190. In fact from Johnson's era to Marciano's the average was around 195

    Kiddo. Median, not avarage.

Rocky did everything a boxer could in his day. Stop him to be something he doesn`t need to :)

Holmes wins but I think it goes longer than 7. And AJ has enough of a right hand punch to put Holmes briefly on the canvas.

Let's be honest, Anthony Joshua was just kayoed by Andy Ruiz Jr, there was no grassy knoll or conspiracy theory, he just lost to a better man that night, Larry Holmes, up on his toes, moving, firing his left jab in Joshua;s face, stops Anthony, in round 10. The only thing that weight means is, more noise to be made when crashing to the canvas, after the exhaustion of eating a lot of stiff jabs. The bigger they are, the harder they fall.

Poor Anthony was pretty highly regarded in here considering the nature of the forum but has gone from that to ZERO with one foul loss. Prior to this one guy was even telling us it's common sense that he is the best ever heavyweight due to them getting bigger and better yad yada and he'd even surpassed Lewis yada yada. I don't think i've seen him post since. But Joshua generally commanded respect. The Penthouse to the shithouse scenario. He's suddenly below the likes of Boncrusher and countless others. If he wins in impressive fashion on the weekend Ruiz will be an utter bum for many no doubt as people struggle to balance things.

He was very solid prior to Ruiz. He wasn't amazing but he had plenty going for him too. Big man, big power and some decent fundamentals. He beat a decent crop up until Ruiz. There were questions still unanswered regarding durability and gas tank among other things. He's been moved fast and guys like Louis and Lewis suffered bad losses at early stages and came back to be immense.

Will Joshua do this? Time will tell, like it does with all of them. If he loses again in pretty poor fashion then he has problems. By the same token what is Ruiz then cleans house? If he comes back and wins impressively he's potentially back on track. The division is very much an open book and quite fascinating at present.

But back to the thread. Even prior to the Ruiz upset the safe money was on Holmes. I don't think it would be a picnic however as Joshua brings quite a bit to the table. He would be hugely "different" to anything Holmes faced that's for sure.

Holmes would be cautious, aiming to outbox the big man and drag him into deep water. I would not be surprised to see Joshua have some good moments in the early going. I think Holmes would take over as the rounds progressed and Joshua tired. At a guess i'd say he would stop a tired Joshua somewhere in the second half of the fight.

Yeah amazing how fast his stock dropped when Ruiz dropped him. He went from the most overrated current heavyweight in the world before he met Ruiz to now so far down he could well be the most underrated current heavyweight in the world. Lol. You had people over on general making 300 page threads on why Joshua would kick Ali’s ass to Joshua now been below Berbick and Bruno’s sparring partners. Gonna be interesting to see if views will change dramatically again if Joshua somehow destroys Ruiz this weekend.
