1st bout - Daud Yordan vs. Celestino Caballero

 

Cab comes out leaning back behind a jab. Daud takihng his measure, not rushing into the jab. Caballero pushes off and Yordan goes down, not a KD. Cab continues to jab and begins to pierce through the gloves of Yordan to clip his chin. Yordan starts pressing forward with hooks and overhead rights, but eats a few jabs on the way in. Caballero begins to throw uppercuts from far out and they land hard to the body of Yordan. Yordan keeps up a good defense but gets outlanded.

Round 2

CC backs Yordan up with his jab and steps into uppercuts to the body and long right hands upstairs. Yordan lands a good short hook stepping between Cab's feet, but Caballero quickly reasserts his favored distance and begins holding Yordan off with bodywork again. Caballero throws a quadruple hook that gets mostly blocked. Yordan answers with one of his own that lands. Yordan rushes in headfirst as Celestino plays possum on the ropes, and is knocked clean on his butt by a patiently timed uppercut. He beats the count easily.

10-8 Caballero - now up 20-17

 

Round 3

Caballero opens with a hook and extends it into a five punch double decker combination. Yordan keeps his gloves close to his face for protection and simply bulls his way into Caballero's chest. Caballero invites this by simply outworking Yordan on the inside with slaps to the side of the body...then steps away and lands his preferred longer shots. Caballero's defense is very Mayweather-inspired, with his left arm hanging loose at his hip, the shoulder thrust out and shielding his turned chin along with his right hand. Caballero tries to rope-a-dope Yordan at the end of the round again and time him with a hook but Yordan keeps his guard up this time and picks it off.
