Fury is 22-0 and turns 26 next week.

Lennox Lewis was 22-0 after destroying Razor Ruddick and 27 years old. He fought Ruddick at 227.

    1. Who's 22-0 record is better?

    2. Who is the better fighter at 26/27?

    3. Who would win between them and how?

    4. Would Fury refuse to fight Lewis, ala Riddick Bowe?

    Lewis was 22(20)-0
    Fury is 22(16)-0

Lewis had the scalps of Donovan Ruddick, Glen McCrory and Gary Mason
Fury's top three are Dereck Chisora, Steve Cunningham and Kevin Johnson

Lewis had an Olympic Gold Medal,

    1. Fairly even
    2. Lewis
    3. Lewis TKO6
    4. Fury wouldn't refuse to fight anyone.

Q1: Is comparing an ATG heavy to a man yet to fight for a strap a bit far fetched?

    A1: Yes.

My question is somewhat more nuanced than that. It is a point-in-time comparison and looks at Lewis before he became an "ATG".

There are a few out there who think that Fury will become an ATG. I'm not one of them, but, Fury is 22-0, just like Lewis was at one point.

    Well, not exactly.

I believe that Fury turns 26 next week.

Lewis fought Ruddick October of '92 and was born in September of 65. So, he had just turned 27.

At the time of 22-0, purely on pro accomplishments Lewis was ahead of Fury. Also there wasn't a single controversial win on his resume and hadn't been in any kind of trouble in his fights.

But the comparison is kinda strange, because nobody in his right mind believes that Fury will even come near LL's accomplishments

100% agree on that part. That's the point of my questions, well at least the first three.

There are some future "ifs" in Fury's equation that will never materialise in his favour on a path to greatness. E.g.,"well, what IF he beat Wlad?"

I think most will agree that at any point in time (to date) Lennox wins the comparison, HOWEVER was Lennox as entertaining to watch at that same 22-0 point?
Lennox never punched himself in the face, never sang after a fight, wasn't regularly knocked down and fought back and had boxing skills from the beginning, which Tyson is only just getting to grips with recently.

I can't even believe you are attempting to compare these two. I like Fury but come on this is ridiculous Lennox was streets ahead.

You can't imagine a world in which Lewis would avoid a tall, jab jab power right hand boxer that usually wears red and gold? Really?
