you cant possibly know that. broner has a long way to go before he can be called as good as wilfredo vasquez or wayne mccullough. how much boxing have you watched?
Honestly the best post in ages , really made me laugh and it would be how I see it. Broner lost to De Leon!!! Hamed would have him eating his food through a straw!!!
I'm a Naz fan but consider a 130lb Broner (probably rehydrating in the 140s) a bigger challenge than a bantamweight McColough (who should have been a 2 weight champ) and a 38yo Vasquez I do think Broner is a massive talent, but let's wait and see how good he is.
how does him being bigger equate to him being better, in a fantasy match up? as a fighter, maccullough and vasquez are way better than a fighter who couldnt handle ponce de leon. my point in saying he has a long way to go, is also to wait and see how good he really is before claiming he is better than those who actually proved how good they were.
Broner by brutal KO. Footwork would frustrate Naz. Naz can't win in exchanges as Broner is really 140er or even bigger. Broner is also as fast Naz. If Naz attempts to exchange the power and size of Broner would destroy Naz. Naz will struggle with a quick footed, fast hands, bigger counterpuncher. If it goes the distance, which I seriously doubt, Naz would get tagged too much and his terrible balance would make punches look even worse.
Not too sure Broner would have the experience to deal with someone who not only fights as unorthodox as Naz did but also someone who packed a feakish wallop even when off balance. Barring one fight i dont think Broner has really been tested to the point that i could pick him over Naz even with the added weight advantage.
Naz was pretty good, if he had stuck around and worked on his defence then he might just be a HOFer. Pity he didnt have the character to stick around then. The ego thing was a game in the begining but it went to his head and he started to overreach.
I was and still am a big Prince Naseem fan, he was fun to watch... pure entertainment. But lets be real, the guy was a paper champ. Broner would absolutely dominate him.
What does that have to do with anything? Nas was 5'4" with a 64" reach, no defense what so ever and lacked heart. Broner is 5'7" with a 71" reach, a solid defense to go along with very good boxing skills and power... I am a bigger fan of Nas... but commonsense tells me Nas is getting dominated on the scorecards. Knock Out would be his only hope. Nostalgia is clouding peoples judgement, that or Broner is picking up a lot of haters lately.
