    Sh'boom! :scared1

Former two division champion, laid out in 25 seconds (between the opening bell and finding himself supine between the ropes...official time of stoppage on record is 30). This was probably the penultimate Actually Somewhat Important Bout™ in the respective careers of either of these "Kind of a Big Deal in the Nineties" heavyweights - Tua still had the Rahman draw to come and Moorer the win over Jirov, but otherwise it was a pair of protracted, long & bumpy plummets from relevance.

I never seen this before, I know it was before this but tua is always relevant to me because of the bout with Ibeabuchi was poetic brutality, one of my favourite heavyweight wars still watch it every now and again.
    His chin was hof material.

It was a similar blitzkrieg - in fact an even faster one, incredibly, at 19 seconds - over John Ruiz six years earlier that had put Tua on the hype freight train collision course with Ike Ibeabuchi.

This fight was a huge mistake for Moorer. He was pretty carefully matched at hw for the most part. Odd that his handlers just decided to throw in their chinny fighter with Tua when he was already on the decline.

    Tua KOd

    John Ruiz
    Hasim Rahman
    Michael Moorer
    Oleg Maskaev

All of them became HW champions but Tua never got a strap himself

    Crazy

    It truly is.

Also hard to imagine that he wouldn't replicate those results if he fought any of them during their reigns, meaning that with a different casting of the die he could have been champ 4x over!

This is the meaning of getting run over.

When a fighter is so much stronger and physically dominant, that nothing can help you overcome it.

Even on Moorer's best day, I think he still gets bombed out by Tua. Look at how much damage Bert Cooper was able to do to him until Moorer pulled the fight out w/ a sudden desperation flurry. In fact, he was very lucky not to be stopped in the very 1st round in almost the exact same manner.

Emanuel Steward said Moorer had million dollar ability and a ten cent brain. Moorer also had problems with alcohol his entire career that they were able to keep quiet in the beginning.

I used to love tua..limited but such a wrecking ball..feel like he ****ed himself over with his weight gain...no idea if it was muscle or fat but when he was around 225 pounds he was so explosive....then when he was around 245 he was so sluggish... but **** the bed that left....thing of beauty
