Demers vs. Vera and Lemieux vs. Ayala RBR - it's an early FNF! 8:30PM EST start time!

Uh, no. Right now. It's an early FNF.

 

Brian Vera is already in the ring, and looking loose and ready to go. Sebastien Demers in the opposite corner looks calm and confident.

 

Round 1

Vera comes out trying to assert himself with a jab. Demers backs up into a corner and then explodes with a body assault that sends Vera reeling toward the opposite corner. Vera begins to box and circle with the jab. He is able to land a few jabs flat on the face of Demers but walks into some counter shots. Vera bouncing side to side and throwing short punches from various angles, trying to offset his reach disadvantage by getting in and getting off first, then getting out before taking too much punishment. Demers has the less busy hands but they're attached to longer, stronger ams - he is trying to line Vera up at the end of a straight shot as he pulls out.

Vera 10-9 on activity and aggression, and slightly cleaner punching.

 

Round 2

Vera again comes out with an immediate flurry of mostly jabs. He mixes in power punches on the heels of those that connect. Demers puts on the earmuffs to wait for Vera to finish and then delivers crunching blows to the body to back Vera up, and then aims upstairs as Vera pulls straight back. Vera is showing the fleeter feet but is getting timed and hit due to his predictable planes of movement. They begin to throw hard power shots simultaneously at close range without much accuracy behind them and clinch up. After the break, they both begin to pour on jabs and each connects a good deal more than with the power punches. Demers grabs Vera and hits him in the head while holding with one hand. Vera slaps out a combination that Demers walks inside of and ties up. Vera gets off a good combination right before the bell, starting with a hard right hand.
