    Round 1

Cano has a big height advantage; he looks more like a welterweight. Leon keeps a right jab working as he backs away. Cano uses his long right hand to find Leon, then unloads slow combinations. Leon stops and flurries a bit himself before backing up again. Neither has very fast hands.

Cano the aggressor and landed slightly cleaner, his round 10-9

    Round 2

Cano chases Leon around with the right hand, swiping it at him sideways, overhand, and backhand. Leon keeps backing and circling, firing right jabs and straight left hands to ward off Cano. Leon eats the straight right hand continually as he pulls straight back after firing his own shots. Cano leads with an uppercut and then doesn't stop punching as he gets Leon against the ropes. Leon tries to hit him straight down the middle with the southpaw 1-2. Cano follows him around and scores with right hands, not hurting Leon but touching him with his long reach while Leon is out of range to counter. A Cano jab snaps the head of Leon.

    20-18 Cano

    Round 3

Leon and Cano clash with their jabs; Leon's right reaching out to slap away Cano's left. Leon begins to step inside and fire short punches, and manages to get Cano's attention with a nice right hook/straight left combination before moving laterally away from the wide counters of Cano. Leon continues to circle and potshot with power punches. Late in the round Cano catches Leon with a right hand that snaps his head back, and then stands in the pocket and turns briefly southpaw himself, landing right hooks and left uppercuts.

Leon got rocked a little harder but landed more of the hard, clean blows overall. 29-28 Cano

    Round 4

Leon sticking the jab and moving. Cano not dealing well with the movement, mostly keeping his fists sheathed and eating counter jabs when he opens up. The veteran used the ring and outboxed the prospect this round.

    Round 5

Cano trying to get Leon to trade with him; Leon popping the right jab and the straight left and getting out of the way. Cano giving up his height, falling in, splaying his legs out and throwing with his arms folded up in front of him, not generating much leverage. Leon gets bold and starts backing Cano up with his right jab, moving slick on his feet.

I have Leon out in front.

    Round 6

The boxing lesson continues as the 20 year old Cano tries to match the circling movement of Leon while keeping pace with him and staying squared up in front of him; Leon punishes him with a 1-2 on the fly. Cano tries a lead right and Leon slips it easily with a twitch of his head while already moving backward at an angle. Leon turns a successful 1-2 into a four punch combination that connects to the upheld head of Cano and drives him back. Cano's gloves come apart as he telegraphs a right hand and Leon hits him in the body. Leon asserting himself with quick power punches off the jab, always moving. At the end of the round, Cano hits him with a sneaky uppercut to the jaw, his best punch of the round and maybe the fight.

    Leon 58-56

    Round 7

Cano ducking down low now, trying to lurch into Leon's body with a right hand. Leon hits him with counters including a short right hook, and straight flurries with both hands. Leon gets Cano backing straight up with a missed jab, and then tags him with a pair of straight lefts as Cano fails to move his head. Cano reaches with his left jab to the body and Leon simply skirts out of the way on his toes.

    Leon 68-65

    Round 8

Leon punches in a straight line, right jabs and left crosses, puffing up and bloodying the face of Cano. Leon pauses and flaps his arms to get the crowd into it, but he's a Colombian beating a Mexican in Mexico City so they remain largely silent except for the same noisy few that have been going all along. Cano is very gunshy as he gets countered almost every time his hands leave his face. Cano keeps taking big step forward and winding up off-balance. He slaps Leon with a bodyshot at the bell.

    Leon 78-74

    Round 9

Apparently they have open scoring as scores are being announced over the PA system; it's hard to make out over the crowd and both commentators talking at once, but I did hear "setenta y seis" (76) once - so one judge has it a draw through eight rounds.

Leon slowing a bit but not looking gassed...taking a round off, more like. Cano follows him with right hands straight and uppercut to the body. Leon not countering as frequently and when he does Cano is bumrushing past the counters and slapping him on the body.

Cano round, that. Leon still comfortably ahead 87-84

    Round 10

Leon stays right in the middle of the ring and toes the line, meeting Cano's rush with jabs and lefts, and hooking with Cano, getting there first. Cano throws a right to the body and then brings it up overhead and crashes it unseen into Leon's jawline. Cano continues to hit Leon with rights to the body; Leon puts his head down and throws a hail mary right hook over his head. Hard right hand lands for Cano and Leon pushes him back with a pair of straight counters. Great action in this last round. Cano hits Leon with a jab, then follows with a right to the body and Leon flicks a jab into his nose and gets off the spot on the ropes. Leon stays in front of him and throws straight punches, while Cano loads up with power, mostly uppercuts to the body. Cano throws a 1-2 that misses on either side of Leon's head and Leon counters down the middle yet again.

Decent fight, but Oscar is probably going to get screwed. Even if you had Pablo Cano edging the last round, it would be 96-94
