It's no Super Six, but this British tournament does provide some good action now and then.

Now it's Sam "The Man" Horton vs. Patrick "Tiger" Mendy, 3x3" rounds, as are all the bouts.

    Round 1

Horton circling and getting cleaner shots off on the stronger but slower Mendy. Horton trapped in the corner and Mendy rushes in on him, unloading lefts and rights to the chest of Horton, causing him to drop his gloves, and Mendy then brings the left uppercuts and right hands up to the jaw of Horton, who staggers to the ropes and is stopped.

Mendy says he usually doesn't like to score first round knockouts because he doesn't want to screw himself out of getting fights by scaring everybody. But in PF he wants to KO everybody quick like this. He says he trained hard and loves boxing, and does it for the thrill of competition, not the money.

He barely looks winded after an explosive couple of minutes of nonstop punching.

    I like this Tiger kid.

The next quarter-final is between Daniel "Mr. Slick" Cadman and Eddie "Braveheart/Return of the Mac" McIntosh.

    Round 1

According to the commentators, Cadman - who has lost 4 of his last 5 - is a true-to-life cab-driver. :yep

The taller Mac puts his head down and charges in, launches no-look overhand rights. Cadman stays squared up to him and fires straighter but less powerful shots right down the middle. McIntosh continues to come in headfirst, bent over at the waist, leaning forward and punching his way in blindly. Cadman rips him to the sides of the head with hooks while being pushes back into the ropes. McIntosh keeps giving up his height, leaning over and trying to keep Cadman pinned to the ropes. Cadman misses a counter hook, and then slaps the easy target of Mac's body.

    Cadman 10-9

    Round 2

McIntosh comes flurrying after Cadman and eats a check hook. Cadman fighting well off the ropes and off the backfoot. McIntosh pushes him to the opposite ropes after going down (ruled a slip) and pummels the body after wrestling Cadman's forearms up and out of position to defend with his elbows. Mac focusing on the body attack now. Cadman continues to try and pop off hooks when he has room as they come together or separate. Mac reverts to headhunting - and, in turn, missing. Wild overhand rights and telegraphed hooks. Cadman misses a downward right of his own as Mac ducks down into a crouch, then partially lands a hook. Huge right misses from Mac, and he clinches up and goes back to the body work.

    Very even round.

    Round 3

Mac comes at Cadman with looping shots and suffers the consequences, taking shorter and straighter punches flush. HUGE right hand from Cadman as he bursts out of the corner, staggers McIntosh back and has him unsteady. Clinch. McIntosh loads up on a massive right and goes off balance. Cadman counters with a right and Mac goes down to a knee. He beats the count but looks ready to go, primarily from exhaustion. Cadman, a bit tired himself, takes a can-opener right but plants a hook on McIntosh's face all the same. They infight in between clinching for a few moments, Mac sweeping shots at the head of Cadman and landing mostly forearm, while Cadman pops off short left hooks and uppercuts.

Cadman 10-8 and he should win clearly on the cards.

Cadman looked impressive there, plenty of rabbit punches in that one.

    29-28 x3 for Daniel Cadman.

    :blood

It ought to have been wider than that, with two clear rounds and a knockdown. He could have even swept the rounds; I had the second even.

Anyway, he's my new sentimental favorite, but the brave ******* will likely be KTFO by Mendy.

He's utterly gassed in his interview; of course he fought six times longer than Mendy did.

That's largely because Eddie kept leaning down and presenting the back of his head.

    Jeff Evans vs. Peter Fedorenko

    Round 1

Fedorenko with a nice jab in the face of the larger Evans. Fedorenko putting combinations together but Evans whacking him with a few right hands. Evans begins to show a jab toward the end of the round as they both settle down.

    Fedorenko 10-9

    Round 2

Fedorenko still throwing punches in bunches but not landing much. Evans in a rhythm now, with a tight defense, using his height, jabbing and punching over the moving or inert gloves of Fedorenko with his right hand.

    10-9 Evans

    19 each.
