Now that the event is over, time to push the promotion of this into overdrive. Who got it? Can only find Spanish translation on YouTube. Thanks
Be mistaken for thinking HBO don't want to promote this fight. It's been non existent so far, they've no excuses if they don't get the PPV numbers that both they expect and that this fight deserves.
GGG by TKO.... IMO. I am hugely excited for this one. I actually think GGG will be able to take canelos power, and will go on a search and destroy mission until enough punches land to break canelo down. Body shots will be the key to to GGGs victory. Still, i can see the argument for Canelo winning, i just think its more likely that GGGs punches will break him down, even if not a lot of them land. Not long left guys!!!
Need to spend money to make money. If they made half an attempt at pushing this thing it would do enormous numbers.
The first episode was not very good. They need to spend more time with the fighters in the gyms and training.
Showtime had 6 weeks to promote Mayweather-McGregor and it did at least $500,000,000 in PPV sales. HBO have had MONTHS to promote Canelo-Golovkin and are only releasing Spanish only shows of country restricted footage on Youtube. They have less than 3 weeks left to release good footage and hype this up; stir patriotism amongst the Mexicans, appeal to the blood thirsty casuals but FFS do something about it. You have people on Youtube making better content and doing it for FREE and relying on views to make a living. If this flops blame the promotors and HBO.
Hope it does flop, or at least ends as up as a box office dissapointment. Finally we would be done with PPVs.
I hope it does not flop because it kills future big fights and kills the incentive of fighters to chase big fights. Maybe HBO spent all their budget on Game of Thrones?
To paraphrase the editors of Orwell's "1984" ... if HBO can't make a success of a fight as iconic as Canelo / GGG, they ought to be lined up against a wall and shot!
I thought the first one was pretty good. Learned a little more about both guys. GGG just strikes me as aging quickly. I still think he has enough in the tank to win by late stoppage but if this were last Sept, GGG would've walked through Canelo like he did Brook, imo. DLH waited for the perfect time to make this fight. If he did it any sooner, Canelo is a huge underdog and if they waited til May, the criticism would be incessant. Can't wait for this one. It's basically a 50/50 type fight.
