I see this program being PBF showing his money and telling Cotto how privilage he is fighting him, and Cotto just nodding his head in agreement..it would be all PBF talking thru all thye shows and Cotto just noddig his head, smiling at times etc...Cotto would have only but complements for PBF , how great of a fighter he is he would thank his people and how lucky he is to be able to fight him...PBF would flash his cash and Cotto would be shown shaking the Bairoa building with his body punches...PBF would flash the cash, Cotto shown quitely and respectful just doing his training.... what you guys think...
It wouldn't be as entertaining as De La Hoya-Mayweather 24/7 or Mayweather-Hatton 24/7 because Cotto doesn't speak English too well nor does he have the charisma of Hatton or De La Hoya. If they did a 24/7, it would be up to Floyd to make this worth watching because Cotto would just come across as the silent killer.
Hmmmmm. It might be interesting to see how Cotto is in normal-ish life. Mayweather would just be as he is normally.
I understand your point:good Cotto probably doesnt posess the charisma of certain individuals, but how much do we, as fans, even know about him? Hes a bit of an enigma, personality wise, we dont see much of him outside the ring, I dont anyway, Im accross the pond in 'ol blighty, but I would like to see the 24/7 show, and for Cottos personality to come out a bit, and I actually thought his english was getting pretty good too
It's very hard to see how could HBO match Cotto's personality with Floyd's arrogant but living-on-his-own-logic style and the whole 24/7 depends on the contrast and conflict of two different PERSONALITIES. Cotto is hardly speaking English, he is a silent type of warrior, a man of few words, who very rarely smile, doesn't show his emotions towards his opponents or fans, his comments and interviews are very dry, very dispassionate. While I like him as a fighter and a warrior, what he is showing on HBO and in his English comments is one of the most aloof fighter I've ever seen on the big stage. That’s why I just couldn’t be a fan of his, despite all the drama inside the ring. I’ve read a few comments here before how Hopkins-Calzaghe couldn't work on 24/7, but you see, in this case you can see an always smiling, little bit of trash talker but very respectful, not too loud but humorous, kind gentleman in him which is a very opposite personality to Hopkins's big talker, arrogant and quite controversial style not to speak of the difference in nationality and their homelands characteristics. But Mayweather-Cotto? The most legitimate fight in boxing and still can’t see HBO doing a 24/7 on this. It would be a 1 man Mayweather show.
