Where do you get that the ratings go up when its a Mayweather 24/7? Tell me, whats so facinating to you about listening to Mayweather go off about nothing in these 24/7's????
I don't think that HBO has ever officially announced the ratings but Schaeffer said that Mayweather brings in about 30% more viewers than anyone else when on the show: "Traditionally, whenever Floyd Mayweather is in one of those 24/7's, I've been told that the ratings are always about 30% higher than with anyone else. That shows you what Floyd Mayweather is all about," stated Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer" Regardless, the show must do well for HBO to continue investing in it.
I'm sure GBP will push for it if the Canelo-Kirkland PPV fight is confirmed for 9/15. Would be good to get to know both of these guys and teams a little better.
The problem is that the same few guys are on it all the time (Mayweather, Pacquiao & Cotto). That's why it's getting stagnant, what the show needs is new fighters to profile that have some sort of personality.
24/7 is played out alright. Sometimes I even think that im watching a film when I watch the series seeing actors instead of boxers.....:verysad
This is why 360's content is so much better ! 24/7 is crap .. I didn't know people could be entertained by watching the same crap over and over again ..And ratings what are the ratings 1 million viewers ? I mean really what are we talking about here ..Its time to start building new stars anyways ! Boxing never revolved around 1 boxer !
Can anyone of you who enjoy Mayweather on 24/7 enlighten us on what is it exactly about his act you enjoy???? I briefly browsed the first episode on youtube and the first thing I heard coming from Mayweather's mouth was "I" "I" "I this, I that, the viewers turn on to see me. If you want ratings you tune to me." Can someone please tell me whats so ****ing entertaining about someone talking about how he brings in viewership, and at tha end of the ****ing telecast that man does'nt get across a single word of any substance??? HBO has to step up and bring us more boxing insight to these 24/7's. I'm the biggest Marquez fan on this board, but the people at HBO showed very little of real substance in the Marquez-Pacquiao 24/7's. The best show of the bunch was'nt even a 24/7, but the last episode of the series done on HBO about Freddie Roach, when we saw Roach's true colors come out when they had the camera's on both he and Ariza and it was clear to see they were worried and knew Marquez was schooling Pacquiao. The episode showed light on Roach's passionate dislike for Nacho Beristain. Nacho promised a young man back home he'd attempt to get Pacquiao to sign a boxing glove and a couple of other items. This was a few hours before fight time, Pacquiao was'nt in the room but Freddie Roach was, Roach took the items and promised to give them to Pacquiao for him to sign. Nacho was very cordial. When Nacho left the room, the cameras stayed on Roach who then spinelessly bombarded Nacho with expletives. What was to come for Roach on the night was poetic justice that made for a fine episode not a 24/7.
naw 360 isn't better. the only reason 24/7 is boring because you have the same boxers on there. if mayweather, pacquiao and cotto was on 360, people would be saying 24/7 is better.
