Thanks for facilitating that Q & A with Celestino. Yeah I forgot that I participated. Anyway, Pelenchin got a solid supporter in me.
it wasnt much. i am actually trying to get together an online chat/q&a here soon. i will keep you posted. you can always ask questions on his site www.celestinocaballero.com. sunday i will teach him to log in, etc. after that he will be keeping up with that thread and answering regularly
No way, Bernabe even looked bigger than JuanMa during the weigh-in. And look at their height, JuanMa listed as 5' 7" and Concepcion at 5' 4" but they looked more or less of same height. JuanMa will be in trouble. This content is protected This content is protected
Bernabe got a wider body than JuanMa. That will win him the fight.:rofl This content is protected This content is protected
i am pretty sure juanma takes this. by no means am i an expert on boxing, but it seems juanma has a lot more tools to work with. i asked pelenchin who he wanted to win this fight today. i figured he would say juanma. but he said Bernabe. He figured if juanma lost it would give him a better chance of facing juanma.
That's not the case unfortunately. Win or lose, Bob Arum will never put JuanMa in the same ring with a non-Top Rank young, top fighter such as Pelenchin. Carefully selected opponents, yes (shot Marquez), but these days TR fighters only face elite fighters if they are TR too. Gamboa seems to be an exception, I know the Pelenchin fight didn't get made, but at least he's fighting Don King's Jose Rojas, who's a very talented champion and with King's judges, it will be a LOT harder to win than most would expect. MAYBE if JuanMa looks outstanding here Arum will be a bit more brave in opponent selection than post-Mtagwa, so I'm rooting for an easy victory.
You mean Elio Rojas, BB. :good Jose Rojas was a shot Gamboa victim from last year. If Lopez can't shine against Concepcion, he's simply not meant to shine. This is exactly the type of situation where he can and should look outstanding and make it look easy.
Pelenchin is not young, he's already 34 years old. I even thought that the best match-up will be between the 34 year old Caballero against the 35 year old Rafa Marquez. Pelenchin is not young anymore yet he's still avoided by the top dogs.
