The combined records of Hearns,Benetiz,Kalule,Hearns & Hagler when SRL beat them
You could add Duran to that for the rematch too.
thread worthy it is
I think he did. He named Hearns twice and it doesn't add up to 200+ without Duran. I was gonna comment this myself, but I thought something wasn't quite right lol
I didn't have the time to check and hoped he was counting the Hearns rematch LOL
Yeah, I was gonna add on Duran's record myself and while checking what it was (for some reason, I had three numbers in my head, those being 72, 62 and 86 - which I think is Pep's first loss and Chavez's record prior to Whitaker) and saw it didn't add up.
Good work mate. I'm normally "Mr Pedant" as one old friend called me in here many years ago but had to pick mom up and get her to the shops lol
Actually, I think it looks like Leonard’s own record (up to Hagler) has been included in total number of bouts. As I read it, it’s only supposed to be his opposition’s total number of fights.
Even if you allocated 30 fights a piece to the younger guys (WB, TH and AK) that would leave 150 fights to split between Duran and Hags. Too many. Take away away about 30 fights for Ray himself and that leaves 120 fights between Duran and Hags which sounds more like it.
Yet just today I’ve seen people criticise him for being KO’d he Macho as an old man and compared to Canelo with his career trajectory.
It should go without saying Leonard is undeniably a top 5 welterweight and one of the best ever.
Benitez was a drug addict and not properly prepared when SRL beat him.
Hearns was winning until he got exhausted towards the end of the fight. Hearns was the more skilled boxer that fight, but he lacked stamina.
Hagler was robbed.
SRL is overrated.
White Bomber! Say it isn't so!!
A significant number of people don't like Leonard for various reasons, but I don't think anyone seriously believes he wasn't one of the greatest fighters of all time.
I assume you are a SRL fan ?!
He probably is, but he's also overrated
