SRL didn't spank anyone. Hagler won that fight, despite being past his prime and dumb enough to accept a big ring which suited SRL's running tactics.

    Not at all.
You could find much worse fighters with much better numbers.

Brian Nielsen was 62-1 when Mike Tyson beat him. Probably the best numerical record on Tyson's record. But Tyson beat far better fighters.

Well we certainly know they were ATG's excepting Ayub.

I'd be interested to see how many guys you could put up that beat a collection of 5 different guys with a combined record that stands up to this one. Bonus points for more recent history.

:DOh yes, that you are right. I'll leave the Holyfield posts for Unforgiven to handle.

Finally read the article. Excellent. Thanks again. Seems Ray was saying he was out on his feet but not literally KO’d, since he refers to covering up his true condition so no one knew. Rays considerate, years in the making approach and ongoing analysis was not unlike Tunneys similarly long term build up and preparations before facing a jaded Dempsey.

Don’t forget Marvin being dumb enough to fight conventional for the first 4 rds. Ray didn’t ask or force Marv to do that but Leonard appreciated very much all the same. I’m a big fan of Hags but seriously, what was he thinking……..

They were ATGs execept Kalule, yes.
But Kalule at 36-0 counts for more than 32-0 Hearns on this method, that is my point.
They are ATGs regardless, not because of those numbers.

I think everyone here knows that numbers don't mean much.

    Mike Tyson.
What were the combined records of Brian Nielsen, Peter McNeeley, Tony Tucker, Michael Spinks and Larry Holmes?
    210-4 maybe?

Even the trio of Nielsen, McNeeley and Botha have a combined 136-3 when Tyson beat them, and not one of them would feature among his top ten wins!

I am sure Floyd Mayweather and possibly even Tyson Fury could muster something similar too.
