He's headlining ESPN2 FNF this week against Michel Rosales; who's seen or even heard of him?

His last TV appearance was on Showtime in 2008, a close decision over then-unbeaten so-so welterweight Tim Coleman. He was actually televised four times in total that year, twice on Telefutura and once on an ESPN2 undercard.

He seems to be a well regarded prospect, at least by those who have written about him.

What are his strengths and areas for improvement? What's his back story (amateur credentials, pro stable, etc)?

The most recent footage readily available that's of any quality is over thirty months old, so it doesn't really speak to where he currently is in his development:

He really struggled against Coleman for the first half and I remember getting hurt in an early round. Didn't really impress me much, but maybe he's gotten better.

    Damn!

DLR was scrapped from this week's Friday Night Fights main event due to some unfortunate circumstances.

First, Michel Rosales couldn't get a visa.

Then, replacement Alex Bunema couldn't get within 10 pounds of the weight limit and fainted while trying to cut the fat! :patsch

No suitable opponent could be found, so instead we were treated to the horribly crowd-displeasing display that was Breidis Prescott vs. Harrison Cuello.

It's reported that De la Rosa is looking to get out of his Don King contract, as this is the second time in as many months something like this has happened.

"I’m very disappointed that this happened," he said.
