Aprox. 5500 tickets were given away and aprox. 8000 people showed up last night. This for a popular fighter and a Championship fight in Spink's hometown?
    Disgusting.

it seems like spinks is in the same bout as john ruiz ,their fights aren't exciting and alot of ppl aren't really interested in watching them fight.

The promotion for this fight was awful. Probably the worst I can ever remember. I'm a huge boxing fan, check out websites every other day, on here almost every day, yet I didn't know about it until yesterday. I was reading about it in another thread, and people reading it didn't even know either. Why the **** is a world title fight on in the middle of the week, on some wesbite?

How can you blame these people for not going? Even Spinks isn't to blame. The blame should be placed entirely on Don King. He did a **** job promoting this fight.

I was in St. Louis yesterday, and decided not to go to this fight. Glad I did, now.

This is strange that it sold so poorly, seeing as how they claim that last Spinks fight in St. Louis sold so well, that it broke attendance records of some sort.

That one supposedly selling great, then this one doing so poorly, and not being too far apart in time, don't make sense.

    OK Spinks isn't a DRAW, your point:roll: .....

That's why Don King was giving away the damn tickets in the first place....

Maybe the people of Saint Louis finally came to their senses and realized that there is no reason to pay to watch spinks.

Spinks ruined his reputation in the Taylor fight. It was the worst possible thing for his career. Better for him to try and fight and get stopped in a valiant effort than run, run, run.

thats what happens if you have a boring style, you get to win fights in the eyes of the experts but you don't win the heart of fans in general. I hope fighters like guzman learn from this:yep

St. Louis doesn't deserve to have a world class fighting from their town. This guys should just move and claim somewhere else. Idaho wouldve showed more love that the "lou" ...

I think its a Shame that so many people hate him there ...

Fighters who make it big don't stay in their home towns ... it cuts down on the hate they recieve ... the lest your seen ... the more fans appreciate you.
