Does anybody think that Arnoutis has a chance?

He has very little chance of winning. He has a chance of making it the distance if he boxes smart. :yep

I just don't want to see him get badly hurt.

Mighty Mike has had a good career. He'll give some rounds, at least. Garcia isn't a top flight prospect. Good main event for this show but I can't pretend to be excited.

    Round 1

It's a jabbing contest early, and a pretty even one with neither really stepping through. Arnaoutis tries to hook around a Garcia jab but holds back a little as Garcia jerks reflexively out of the way. Both use a lot of feints as Arnaoutis circles and keeps the right jab flowing having switched southpaw. A straight left bounces off Garcia's chest and he lands his own power punch a moment later on the circling Arnaoutis. Garcia is missing a lot of jabs, while the shorter and smaller-armed Arnaoutis remains busy-handed and mobile. Reaching right to the body lands for Garcia.

    10-9 Arnaoutis.

Mike is fighting tonight? I had no idea. Didn't see it mentioned anywhere. I wish him luck. ...He's really going to need it. He never has any, the poor *******.

I cannot seem to find this on my television as of yet. So, I was hoping you'd be up to your typical antics IB, which you are. Sweet.

    Round 2

Arnaoutis steps through with a hard 1-2, then lands a right hook moments later. Garcia is a bit taken aback by Arnaoutis going on the aggressive. He starts trying to time Arnaoutis' rushes in with straight right hands down the pipe and sweeping left hooks, but is mostly just clubbing Arnaoutis on the shoulders. The crowd wants blood and gets a bit wild every time Garcia throws...which in turn makes him get a bit wild. Garcia is coming forward but not throwing much, has a 1-2 blocked and lands to the body. Arnaoutis stands in front of Garcia, bunny-hopping backward only when a 1-2 is thrown, and feinting the jab every second or two. Hard right hook lands for Arnaoutis behind the ear of Garcia.

So 20-18 Arnaoutis then? It sounds like he's composed and has quickly found a comfort zone.

    Round 3

Arnaoutis is moving in and out quickly, jabbing anywhere there's an opening and retreating out the back or side door before Garcia can counter. Garcia winds up on some underhand torpedoes and some girl in the audience keeps screeching every time he throws. Arnaoutis dodges several Garcia jabs and plants one of his own to the body. Then one to the face. Garcia misses a lunging right and a hard hook. Finally with only a few seconds left in the round he catches Arnaoutis with another version of the same combo, landing a very hard hook on the chin and Arnaoutis CAN NOT STAY ON HIS FEET! He gets up, staggers, falls again and is generously given a ten count, which he beats.

    Round 4

Garcia launches several successive overhand rights but can't connect. Then he goes back to the hook (downstairs this time) and whips Arnaoutis enough to get his attention and slow his retreat. Arnaoutis loads up on a straight left to back Garcia off but Garcia's straight right lands just a split second earlier and has Arnaoutis dancing on his tiptoes and one more punctuating hook on Arnaoutis' chin as he strafes away trying to regain his balance puts him down for the count.

I always hate it when people put "sigh" in parentheses to show they're sighing. But I feel like doing that right now, because it's the only thing that fits this.

The replay is tough to watch. Arnaoutis is knocked to his hands and knees, then rolls back on his butt and pitches forward trying to rise but isn't able to for the first few seconds. Just as he's trying to scramble to his feet the referee is already shaking his head, and his cornerman runs out to prop him up.

He didn't want it to be over, but...for Mighty Mike, it is.

It's a shame, because as usual he showed some really nice boxing for a few minutes.
