A prime Haye would have starched Bellew at CW. Problem is, his style doesn't age well and that's as much to do with not being able to train in the manner needed to box the way that suits him best, let alone the slowing of reflexes to execute it. But even a facsimile of the old Haye will be too much for Bellew. Haye's timing was awful in the first fight. That was either because he was shot - or as I believe - charging in and swinging from the chandeliers is alien to him. He used to wait for chances to snipe not plough in like Rocky. I think his timing will come back if he doesn't force the fight.
I have him no2 h2h ever at the moment. I think prime Haye would find the shot to separate Usyk from his sense's too. Mormeck was a quality quality fighter and he stopped him, blitzed Enzo ect. Great fighter at cruiser. Chin never an issue, monster power and reflex's, I'm only confident Holy is a winner against him, but he was never hit at cruiser with the blend Haye brings to the table
People tend to assess Haye based on what they think of him as a person rather than what he did in the ring in his peak years and in his genuine weight class. At his best he was a match for any CW in history, imho. Holyfield vs Haye would have been epic. I favour Evander but, as you say, he never got hit with such power and speed at that weight...
Both haye and roy jones had styles that only gave them a very small window to remain in their prime, both heavily dominant on natural reflexes and speed. Both styles had decent longevity but there was a short period in both of their careers were they looked invincible.
Yes they do mate. Its because he's a flash pretty boy, them types usually have no substance and get found out. Only behind the smile is a f'ing monster with this one prime. He's never had to prove himself in the trenches down to his style, but he can rough tough fighters up with his smarts and power. Still to this day, know ones sparked Chisora, Haye as we know done it in a few rounds
David Haye could fight Bellew once a year for twenty straight years, lose all 20 fights with a busted foot or popped shoulder, and CutThroatFade would still be here getting excited about witnessing Bellew's upcoming decapitation at the hands of his beloved dreamboat David Derron Haye. I dunno, it's kind of sweet, kind of dumb ... ... But you gotta admire the loyalty and dedication. Personally I think Haye's been hanging around like a bad smell since the Klitschko fight in 2011 but Bellew really is a complete tool so I wouldn't mind a devastating KO win for the Bermondsey G here too. (not that I'll actually get out to see or buy it) Go Haye !
It should be a good rematch Klitscko hit the nail on the head about haye, how he loads up but then has to reset himself Bellew Pretty much did that in the first fight, stayed out of harms way and then attack every time haye had to reset
That's the only thing I'm hoping for. Probably won't happen just yet, they are going to find him an opponent who has a viciously losing record with no wins by a knockout.
