Predicting an extremely easy KO victory for Cotto, and boxing lesson by Cotto, GUARANTEEING Victory for Cotto. You ridiculed, mocked, belittled, and disrespected those who believe the Tornado would be too much for Senor Cotto. Now some of you are still not giving him his dues! Margarito is the Man! Congratulations Margarito fans! I'm bitterly dissapointed but you guys deserve props. I picked Cotto to win a clear decision by boxing, much like he did in the first six rounds (except staying off the ropes and clinching more). I was upset with the strategy Cotto used, had he clinched more and not solely counterpunched he could have won. That's taking nothing away from Tony. Margarito is one tough guy, he ate everything Cotto threw at him and came back for more, from what I've seen it's almost impossible to discourage the man. I never disrespected Marg before this fight, I always rated him as good fighter that had flaws (B+ level using my own scale), unfortunately Cotto couldn't exploit those flaws for 12 rounds. I'll admit to being wrong for once, I deserve to eat some crow. Congratulations.:good
since i've joined this site..i've only been wrong on 2 occasions regarding title fight, this one and the santos-alcine fight
I'm not even a Margo fan but i had money on him tonight and he came thru as expected. last night I was out talking about this fight with my boys and everyone thought i was crazy for picking margo. they're feeling real dumb today
The outcome of this fight was a mathematical certainty. As someone picking Margarito I was fairly certain that Cotto might even survive the duration at the end in the later rounds. Margarito did a very poor job of letting his hands go and throwing combinations and he was still able to get the TKO. Even at the final moment Cotto surprised me with his ultimate vulnerability. I don't really blame anybody for picking Cotto who just took a superficial glance at the situation, but if you really did your homework and your research, and you still picked Cotto, either you're a blind and hopeful fan, or a ****ing moron. As I said this fight didn't even go according to plan and Margarito put up a generally bad performance and he still broke Cotto down and stopped him. Cotto didn't have the durability, stamina, defense, or actual boxing skills to beat Margarito - I'll say it again. It was never, never, ever, going to happen.

I picked Margo by TKO on the poll but I cant gloat as I didnt give an analysis before the fight. I was leaning very slightly towards Cotto even though my heart and mind were telling me Margo would win. I guess I was just too impressed with Cotto in his previous fights not to figure he would win.
