Robert Stieglitz vs. Enrique Ornelas RBR

It's starting.

 

Round 1

Ornelas looks bigger, as though he rehydrated about ten pounds higher. Stieglitz starts slow behind his jab. Ornelas isn't pressuring, just waiting on the wing and pawing a few jabs of his own. Stieglitz gets off a few straight combos, backing Ornelas into the ropes. Ornelas misses a few body shots as Stieglitz hops out of the way. Stieglitz controls the range with his jab. Ornelas holds his left arm out to back Stieglitz off. Ornelas jumps in with a 1-1-2 and the right grazes Robert's chin but doesn't bother him.

Round 2

Stieglitz uses his jab and footwork to general Ornelas around. Ornelas occasionally jumps in with combos but starts them from outside and misses the first couple of shots, giving Stieglitz an idea of where to move. They slug a bit at close range. Stieglitz backs him off with his jab. Ornelas misses a hook on the turn. Stieglitz comes in with a 1-2 that gets parried by an Ornelas right. Stieglitz gets his man on the ropes and works the body and head with a long combination. Enrique lands a nice left hook at the bell.

20-18 Stieglitz

 

Round 3

Stieglitz is still pressing the action, getting Ornelas on the ropes and getting off fast combos. Ornelas is still in it, jabbing off the back foot and blocking a bit but is getting outworked. Good body work by Stieglitz. Jab/uppercut lands for Stieglitz. Ornelas tries to peck through with his jab. Ornelas with an overhand right, follows with some body shots but is still getting sniped.

30-27 Stieglitz

 

Round 4

Stieglitz has Ornelas in the corner and covering up. Stieglitz jabbing and flurrying. Ornelas backs him off with a nice right hand, and seems to be awakening a bit. Stieglitz pushes him again to the ropes and lands a big right but takes one in return. Ornelas jumps at him with a trio of hooks. Stieglitz keeps moving with him and throws right hands at the top of Ornelas' head. Stieglitz lands some vicious body punches. Stieglitz throws a three-punch combo over an Ornelas jab. Ornelas is falling short with his 1-2 but gets into position to land an uppercut. Stieglitz spins him into a corner and works him over with lots of punches.

40-36 Stieglitz

 

Round 5

Stieglitz swarming Ornelas repeatedly into the corners and overwhelming him with hand speed, and clearly has enough pop to make Ornelas shy about trying to punch with him too much. They settle down in the middle part of the round, both feinting with jabs from the outside. Ornelas tries to turn Stieglitz and land a high hook. An Ornelas 1-2 is countered over. Joe Cortez issues a warning for Ornelas head holding.

 

Round 6

Stieglitz holding to the familiar pattern, pushing Ornelas into the corner with harder shots and then flashing his hands when he gets him there, scoring points and discouraging return fire. Back in the center of the ring Ornelas keeps trying for one of those hooks on the move. Stieglitz lands his own long left hook, followed by a right down the middle. Ornelas eats jabs and tries to get inside to land his own body punches. Ornelas starts to let his hands go a bit more and catches Stieglitz on the side of the head and body. They're punching together now toe-to-toe. Stieglitzs is landing sharper.

Ornelas hasn't done quite enough in any round to win one yet.
