If the 27 yo Dubois, who decimated the near 35-year-old AJ, had been matched up with AJ at 27—the same age he was when he beat Klitschko—how would the fight have gone?

Dubois already fought a prime more experienced aj. That chin will always fail against the elite

We don't necessarily even know that Dubois would win a rematch yet - we might never know it.

It's possible that Dubois and his team got their tactics just right, Joshua's got his wrong and DDD managed to pull it off...
It doesn't look like it right now, but Joshua's been beaten before and come back looking better (Usyk) and won (Ruiz).

When we're talking about 27 year old AJ, we're talking about the fighter that beat old Wlad - took some punishment but got back up and got the job done... His punch resistance doesn't look nearly as good now, nor does his confidence.

It'd probably be a very good fight, from what we do know right now.

But it didn't against Wlad - and although old, Wlad could most certainly bang.

And when we're talking 27 yo AJ, that's what we're talking about.

41 year old Waldo wasn't elite anymore. Vitali told him not to finish aj off.....asterisk. not a real win. he just wanted to pass the torch that's all

Juicy J was definitely more keen to let his hands go then. Would be 50/50 type match up.

unless we told Juicy J that Dubious smashed a 35 yo him. Then Juicy J might crumble again

I wasn't aware of Vitali telling Wlad not to finish AJ, and not sure what you mean by it not being a real win, but I do sometimes wonder if smug Wlad wanted to try and finish AJ in the round that he predicted on his little USB stick, and perhaps thought AJ would fade down the stretch, which he didn't.

    I favour AJ.

If AJ trained seriously I'd favour him now tbh. But he's lost the eye of the tiger.

AJ defo has the talent to beat Dubois IMO, but he isn't anywhere as resilient as he was in 2017, his chin might have weakened a bit I'm not sure. He seemed as if he came into the Dubois fight fully expecting Dubois to show him respect, and make it a boxing match rather than get the shock of his life.

Its the question where I think its a tad early to get an answer for as AJ could beat Fury and Dubois could lose to Parker but going off AJ V Dubois in 2024 (their first fight), I'd have to back Dubois here.

Dubois is the most overhyped fighter on the forum.

AJ was clearly a shell of himself that night. He may not be done for good but he was certainly not even near top form when DuBois trounced him.

Miller is a fat drug cheat without a single significant win over a decent opponent, and Hrgovic sucks, his own crowning achievement being a questionable decision over Zhang.

It's hard to pick against Dubois. He destroyed AJ with ease. If it was a close fight, there might a case to say a younger AJ would have won.

Dubois would probably beat him quicker, something about fighting Dubois had Joshua spooked,he came into the ring with that same look the night Ruiz beat him .

Frank's pet Frankenstein also beat Joshua up in sparring. It's the same reason why Joshua never had David Price and Joey Dawejko around hanging around sparring camp! They were just too strong. Lol

Dubious took his losses like a man and worked his way back into the deep end

AJ took his losses badly and coddled his way into a Fury retirement fight even after easily getting chinned off by underdog Dubious.
