A 2nd cousin of brothers Jose & Miguel Cotto, this lightweight prospect is currently 9-0 (4) and taking care of business at the carefully measured level at which he's been matched.

(Cotto won by 2nd round TKO)

With his pedigree and the headstrong aggression visible in this scant video to date, it will certainly be interesting to watch as he comes along and builds his way up to high-profile TV fights.

You can be ahead of the curve and catch him on this Friday's edition of Solo Boxeo Tecate on Telefutura if he makes it onto the show (pending an early knockout in either half of the co-main event.)

Always welcome a younger Cotto to the sport. They all bring excitement. Though his handspeed doesn't seem too great?

Looking forward to see some of his fights

He's got the body punching style of a Cotto...I'd like to see more punching dynamics, a jab, and some damn finesse...with that being said...he seems to be a nice addition to boxing. Can't wait to see the progress.

To side with Tackleberry...doesn't seem to have tremendous power either :verysad

He's fighting this weekend hopefully miguel will manage his cousin the right way. But i hear there's talk of putting him against Jonathan Oquendo and that will be a mistake. Oquendo is a great prospect also and there's no point of putting them against eachother right now. If they wait they can fight when both are champions for a lot more money.

He fights on tonight's card in Aguas Buenas, Artesano Cruz is on the card too. I'll see if I can make it to the fight tonight.

Hes got a good style but hes lacking in the speed he throws his punches and the commitment of the power aswell. Miguel would have dropped that guy had he landed his hook. hope abner develops well but i see nothing special, he only got the tko due to the guy not doing anything

I agree with what you're saying, he is not as talented as Miguel and probably wont be but the good thing is that he is just starting and there's plenty of room for improvement.

Seen two of his fights. I see nothing special in him so far. Looks more like Jose Cotto than Miguel to me. But hes still young...lets see how he progesses

Jose Cotto has had a fine career. :nono

Not everyone has to headline an HBO PPV to be considered successful in this sport. There is a whole world of gray area between "Top 10 p4p" and "tomato can".
