Martin Lindsay vs. John Simpson RBR

Shinny Bayaar vs. Paul Edwards just ended a minute into the very first round in extremely bizarre fashion!

There was a hard clash of heads as both come forward, and Bayaar's head busted open. Somehow - they rule it a win for Edwards rather than a No Contest. WHAT THE **** is wrong with the UK????

 

Ugh.

According to a representative from the BBBoC the rules in these situations are going to change effective January 1st, 2011.

Two ****ing weeks. atsch What a rotten deal for Shinny.

 

It doesn't exist yet in Britain. :-(

If you wound someone with a headbutt or elbow or anything else that cuts them so that they can't continue, you win by TKO no matter the round.

Apparently that's changing as of next year, but Bayaar has the **** luck of having this happen before it's officially changed and is therefore screwed by a technicality

 

Since Shinny is a foreign-born journeyman this will likely blow over and the injustice will go unaddressed.

 

Yeah, but even if Bayaar regains the title it doesn't erase the bogus "L" on his record.

 

The main event has arrived.

Round 1

Lindsay glides in orbit of Simpson and touches him from outside with a steady jab. Simpson turns and fires hard shots behind his own stubbier but stiff jab, winging overhand rights at the mobile Irishman. Lindsay is effectively stepping into range to deliver compact blows in ones and twos, then retracting back to his sniper's post. Lindsay shows a nice 1-2 that lands on a few of his roundtrips and sets up a nice short hook for Simpson to remember him by.

Round 2

Lindsay keeps his jab in a syncopated beat, mostly getting blocked by a now shyer Simpson but stepping in and landing a nice hook to the body. Lindsay slings a quick yo-yo right hand from his preferred longer range. Simpson keeps blasting away with his feet set, pushing with his knees as he throws hard rights behind his multiple jabs and catching Lindsay whenever he sneaks his way inside trying to score.

Round 3

Lindsay leads with the right and is making mercurial escapes every time he lands. Simpson keeps to form, tiptoeing forward and putting his all into hard straight punches with both hands. Lindsay is moving very well, keeping his guard up whenever he approaches and on the way out, landing to the head and body on the inside with multiple angles of attack and always getting back outside to start sweeping laterally. Simpson rocked by a big right hand! Temple shot! He regains his equilibrium as Lindsay lets him off the hook a bit. Lindsay double jabs his way in and flurries to the body with his chin tucked as Simpson flails over his head. Lindsay lands another big right hand, but Simpson comes back and digs a left hook to the body. Simpson has no quit in him, winging power punches at Lindsay until the last second.

Round 4

Simpson takes extra large lunging steps with his lead foot and hammers away at Lindsay as the Irishman tries to duck and weave out of the way. Simpson just exemplifies raw aggression. Lindsay is reaching into his bag of defensive tricks but barely has time to think with Simpson walking him down in big strides and smashing him in the body, ripping some uppercuts to the bowed head of Lindsay for good measure. Simpson mauls him and tosses a pair of uppercuts into the open target of his ribs as Lindsay tries to lean forward from a crouch to grab hold of him. Lindsay is landing the odd jab when he gets separation but is getting molested.
