i noticed something onn boxnation about the lad fighting bradley skeete moaning because of a 6 rounder instead of a 4 rounder then something about not fighting for 28days....anyone enlighten me on the ruling or whatever it is?
as far as im aware if youre stopped you cant fight again for 28 days, he was moaning because apparently he thought he was only doing a four rounder, wasnt prepared for 6 and didnt he get stopped in the 5th? meaning he cant fight for 28 days, few paydays lost there
Can't even walk in a gym for 28 Days, Can't spar or doing anything. Fighters like Morris lose money and also time to prepare for bouts.
personally i think it should be done case by case, i havent seen the fight, but he didnt take too much punishment did he? and he wasnt knocked out cold or anything
i think the board needs a total shake up, i mean approving fights like burns-cook, and with recent robberies and dodgy stoppages where are they? did they say anything about cox-sai? its embarassing for the sport, the board of control should be focussing on stamping out **** like that
No, you cannot mess with safety, it is an excellent rule, and although it may cost a fighter a few pounds, better that than the potential consequences that sadly have happened time and again in this sport. Safety should come first, second and third in this sport.
Not that it excuses everything else Jim but the Cox fight wasn't really the Boards call. It was a Commonwealth matter.
true! trying to think of some more shockers off the top of my head where nothing is done, can only think of dallas-page, alright page is a journeyman, but its embarassing when verdicts like that are given, or the robbery on the undercard of the burns fight, forget their names bowen-carman or something? :huh
