You mean how Berbick lost to a novice Tyson? Even you clown have to admit AJ's future is yet unknown, he might (or might not!) turn out to be an enduring, long term-champion like Iron Mike was. Or maybe he will lose to Wlad and become damaged goods. We simply don't know.
It wouldn't surprise me if Wlad loses to AJ. It means nothing really. For someone who decided Wlad was utter sh!t a long time ago, you do seem awfully interested in seeing him failing some more. It's almost as if you secretly think he's great. If Wlad was rubbish at 31, who cares what he's like at 41 ??
I disagree, I think it's win win for Aj. He wins he's seen as the legit #1 in the division with an atg on his resume. Most people won't care too much about Wlad's age etc. If he loses it will be seen as rushing him too much, since he hasn't even faced a real legit top 10 opponent. Then he can face Haye in a big fight and assuming he wins that, will be seen as right back in the mix
He a well kept healthy 40 . In this modern era boxers have a longer shelf life. Especially Wlad who won fights without ever having to actually fight. Holmes win against Mercer at 42 trumps any win by Wlad. Look at Foreman at 38 against better guys than Jennings and look at Wald at 38 against Jennings.
Its simply impossible for Wlad to produce a performance on that level. Hell , Wlad couldn't even come close to looking that good in his younger days
Don't you know? It won't, because Wlad can't win legitimately in Dino's eyes. It's the perfect way to justify a position, loses matter, wins don't. He could very well be the worst fighter in history by that measure.
I didnt say it was. I'm just saying the value of a potential win for Wlad's resume is (as of right now) still unsure. If Wlad beats AJ and AJ retires from the sport the win isn't that valuable. If AJ becomes a dominant champion afterwards (like Tyson did) the win in this case would be huge for Wlad's claim to be placed among heavyweight history's best.
True, because it would somewhat dispell the notion that Wlad was only at 50% of his capabilities as some say. Having said that, if Fury never fights again then his single win over a top 10 fighter (even if vs. the best of his era) isn't really worth as much as it could be if Fury was an active and dominant fighter during his prime. Right now it appears Fury can't take the pressure of being champion and rather crawls into a cozy home and stuff his face with junk food than get in the gym and do what a proper champion does.
Yeah, that's almost definitely what he does. Whatever happens, in the future when it comes to assessing fighters of this era, Fury's going to be some sort of enigma.
Wlad is getting old. He's not going to be able to just drape on Joshua to slow the fight down. Could be passing of the torch with Fury out of the picture.
Pre-Tyson Fury fight Wlad was unbeaten as the undisputed HW champion for 10 years. Who was the last HW world champion to be unbeaten for 10 years folks? That really means something, regardless of whether you enjoy watching him or rate him alongside previous greats. For AJ to beat him would be a really big achievement- even though he has been out of the ring for a long time and looked poor in his last 2 fights.
