Have you recently seen PBF ever desperate? He is a calculating fighter... He has the uncanny skill to pick people apart no matter what is done.. I don't see the fight going this way b/c if they do decide to exchange as you described and Cotto gets caught, he will back down. We saw this in the mosley fight. comments?

He ducked Margarito, Winky, Shane and Cotto in "desperate" fashion.

I guess i should have clarified for you... When have you seen PBF desperate in the ring? It doesn't matter what he does in his off time to me. Shane had his chance to fight PBF earlier in his career when PBF was on his way up. He declined, PBF climbed the ranks and now Shane wants a shot? I wouldn't give it to him either.

So you're telling me if you wanted to fight someone and they say no, you climb the ranks and become top dog, then the SAME guy who turned you down wants you now; you would fight him? He had his shot when PbF was on the way up, said no. I don't get your logic.

PBF is not ducking these guys - as you see once they start to call PBF out they end up losing on the way to him.

Mosley, Cotto, Margarito, and Cintron can't beat Floyd. I hear Cintron in an interview online and he's talking like Floyd is hiding from the whole welterweight division - I was think man Kermit what have you done?

You're avenging your loss to Margarito, **** you got knocked out and now that you have a paper title (that Floyd vacated) you want to talk ****. Guy you need to keep fight Tomato Cans.

Margarito isn't talking about Floyd no more since his L to Williams now he's back to square one so all that talk was irrelevant.

Mosley has 5 L's on his resume and hasn't won a title since he beat DLH, 5 years so his cred is invalid.

Cotto has some tough fights coming up so for him to call out PBF is stupid -
They just want the pay day in the end they don't want it for the prestige which is a legit reason, they just want to get paid.

Cotto will get KO'd in a fight with Mayweather and we shall see if he gets past whats put in front of him -- maybe he's overlooking people in site of a mega fight with Floyd.

Like I said before, I wouldn't doubt that Cotto is looking past his match with gomez. It would be just like PW looking past Q. I wonder how far Cotto will fall from 'grace'... Or would people just ignore the L and still say PBF needs to fight him...

People would ignore the L ... and the fight will still be on because Cotto has a strong fan base.

People fail to realize that Cotto will walk into alot of punches -- he's an easy target to hit when standing toe to toe w/ PBF. He doesn't have good movement - he's a standing target. Given that he thinks he's stronger, he will play aggressor and stalk PBF. Sounds familiar, yeah this is how Hatton fight started off.

Cotto has no bounce in his step and he's not effective moving side to side. His feet have to be planted for him to throw punches and thats not good because Floyd doesn't have to be set to throw a punch, Floyd can punch on the move and that will ultimately confuse Cotto. He's never faced a guy who can punch on the move and from different angles.

You know Floyd can pivot and throw that check left hook going backwards, he can bounce from side to side and throw a straight right through the middle, he can counter Cotto's jab with a right over the top, he can throw a leaping left hook off the jab ....

Floyd has too many weapons for Cotto

All Cotto can do is stalk and go to the body ... he has no right hand and all his power comes from the left hand. He throws the left hand like a power shot. Floyd will neutralize that and knock him out.

Desperation can be expressed in many different forms, while fighting the likes of Blado, DLH and even Zab PBF had moments of reevaluation. If you read my previous post giving some detail of how the fight may play out you see I point to PBF's ability to pick his shots though against Cotto he will need to commit more in order to earn total respect, Thus leaving him vunerable to an excellent counter puncher to the body and head. Many have argued why Cotto started boxing on his toes towards the end of the Mosely fight but I know for a fact that he wanted to show the boxing world that he's a better boxer than Mosely and that he is not just a pressure fighter. Some fans find it conveinent to say Mosely backed him up when that was far from the case. I agree Cotto did not impress the masses but for some hardcore enthusist that I know and former fighters that frequent my former gym Cotto was more than impressive he showed a full arsenal frustrating Mosely to the point of desperation. Don't worry D you still know boxing. :smoke

I don't have much to say regarding your post, its mostly opinion which is great.....while you make some solid points I actualy disagree with at least 80% of your post though I feel PBF would most likey get the win vs Cotto in a tight SD. Go figure.:blood

The desperation that you described was: "both fighter will become desperate for momentem leading to more offensive focus thus creating a battle of you hit me I can hit you better and harder....leaving game plans at the door and merely fighting off instinct and testosterone."
My response to that was: "when have you recently seen PBF desperate in the ring?" you still haven't answered that question. You avoid it by saying desperation can be expressed in different ways...:?

Let me ask you again.. Based on your definition above, when have you recently seen PBF desperate in a ring?

I go on to say if it does turn into a hit me hit you harder type thing and cotto gets caught he will back down.... Then you say cotto was trying to show his boxing skills in the second half of the mosley fight:roll: ... I understand hit and run, but there was no hit when cotto ran. Plus Mosley really didn't show any desperation. If anything he was trying to KO Cotto b/c he didn't want to leave it up to the judges.

BTW, You saying that you talked about boxing at a gym really doesn't add any credibility to your arguement. Nice try.:good

When did we get into childish rhetoric bull****....:blood I mentioned the fact that fighters show desperation in different way when they fight. Not all fighters resort to wailing away without a blue print. Desperation can be expressed by a fighter utilizing a different method of attack that may not be as effective but they feel forced because their original plan has been nullified. Cotto has done this and so has PBF. I'm not trying to belittle you so lets not get into a contest because you will surely lose. Lets try and put aside your self-rightous ramblings and get down to boxing. My inside information was not for you to question it is merely factual information that I chose to share. Do I care if you give it the nod.....:verysad what you think about the circles I run with means **** to me. I play ball with a good friend of the Mosely's "Ardie" and I grew up in the same building of a former Bantam weight champ "Joe Ingrasami" who is driver for main events. But like you said the guys I know in the gym "Gleasons" don't know ****. The rest is again merely opinion what you see as Cotto alomst getting KO'd  .....I saw as Cotto utilizing his underrated boxing ability and making Mosely look desperate. Mosely never looked as swollen as he did against Cotto and I never seen him so humbled....Mosely is a stand up dude and a HOF so his word is as good as any. Humility is a lost trait one that some ***gots on this site should learn (no pun intended, unless you feel guilty)

Fraud will duck Cotto for a third match with Ricky Martin, after winning another boring decision.

First, let me say I like your style. Your points generally make sense and are well thought out. I also wondered how we strayed into the rhetoric and back and forth, but here we are. I must say it is rare to actually have an intelligent coversation debating points of view here. You and I both know when that happens, usually the villiage idiot interjects and says 'you're gay' or something along those lines.

With that said, back to the boxing... with your follow up explaination Desperation I guess it would apply. Don't know if that would be the word I would use but that is here nor there. I think in fight adjustments would fit more than desperation. When you say a fighter is desperate, to me it conveys that he has tried plan A,B,C etc and still has no answer to what is being thrown at him, therefore making him desperate.

Please read my statement about Cotto. I never said he almost got KO'd. What I did say was that during the second half of the fight Shane was trying to KO cotto so he could take the fight out of the judges hands. I agree that shane did have facial swelling caused by Cotto after the fight. I cant recall him looking that bad after a fight.

I also appreciate you sharing the inside information that you have. The reason I say that you bringing up other people doesn't give you credibility is b/c anyone can make up a story about how they talked to PBF etc. I perfer that your merits stand alone because at the end of the day who knows if what you said was the truth...I'm glad that you don't take into consideration if I approve your circles, b/c if you did then you would fall into the internet warrior category, and honestly I don't think that applies to you.

As far as a contest or something.. Maybe you should apply some of the humility that you spoke of and apply it. I'm sure that if you were at "Gleason's" they would teach you never to underestimate an opponent.:hi:
