OKay man

Cotto is a one handed fighter ... all he has is the jab - left hook ... nothing more, nothing less.

Have you seen Cotto fight man (executioner)

He might be strong but he's not the strongest welterweight --

 

gomez may have fought higher but from what i am seeing on tape, he is not a stronger welterweight than cotto is. i think only margarito matches cotto in strength. i am expecting gomez to get slowly beaten down

Cotto barely throws the right hand ... but lets agree to disagree on that ... X don't sleep on Gomez. He's very strong and very accurate ... he might not be the fastest but he makes up with skill and determination.

I'm not going on record to say that he'll beat Cotto but I feel it in my bones that this guy will pull the upset. .

 

oh no doubt, i won't be surprised if gomez lasts the distance in this fight at all

 

i'm not sleeping on gomez though, he is very tough, has a good workrate and is strong and accurate like you say..i just don't think he can mess with cotto right now

 

Thats why i'm not going to officially go with Gomez.

I can go on record to say that if Margarito and Cotto both win and they meet up then i'm going straight for Margarito.

It seems like i'm hating on Cotto and maybe I am but its somthing about this guy. he keeps slipping through the cracks ... and getting by I just think somewhere down the line he's going to get whooped by that right fighter.

He definitely needs to learn how to adjust as well -- I think more than anything a loss will make him a more complete fighter. He sees no reason to adjust because he's still winning.

 

I was more disappointed that he didn't attempt to finish the fight like he began the fight. He did a good job boxing going backwards ...

I wish they woulda traded for the second half of the fight ... Cotto took a bunch of rights from Mosley in rounds 6-9 and then Cotto boxed more in the championship rounds.

 

I had it 115-113 Cotto after watching it the second time around. My first thought was 114-114 draw ... but after watching Cotto counter effectively and moving backwards comfortably - it was no doubt that Cotto won.

It couldve went either way IMO ... because there were some close rounds and I think in the 8th or 9th Cotto showed that he was truly hurt by one of those right hand bombs from Mosley. Which caused Cotto to box and not elect to close the fight in good fashion.

Even though I didn't like Cotto's motives, I still thought that he boxed brilliantly.

 

My boy ... we go over his cousins house sometimes and watch boxing. The last fight I seen over there was Cotto v Judah ... they told me the black dude won that they were going to take it out on me. "If you black and Judah wins, we gone jump you"

I watched the Cotto v Mosley fight at my crib ... I was thinking the same thing you were ... WTF ... why is Cotto fighting like a *****. My boy had to explain to me that he was boxing.

I got so many Cotto fights on tape and I never seen this ... I seen him back up before but only because he was recovering from being hurt. I was so disappointed.

After watching the tape over again, I realized that Cotto was effective and was throwing punches.

But everyone who seen that fight, came to the realization that Cotto can't beat Floyd based on that performance.

 

I'm on record as to say that Gomez beat Cotto in a huge upset ...

If you factor in the chin ... the size ... and precise punching ... the only edge that Cotto may have or him is speed.

I think Gomez is hungry and will match Cotto punch for punch. Don't think that Gomez is going to tire himself out if he gets Cotto hurt ... no sir ...

I'm going for the underdog ... but I won't be upset if Cotto wins because he should win.

Either way it goes, if Cotto loses, he still fights the winner of Margarito v Cintron and still will get his shot at PBF granted he gets the victory.
