29 Feb.. Where is the daily Mayweather Cotto thread

Zab, Paulie(even though N'Dou was a paper champ), and Quintana

 

While I think Mayweather would beat Cotto should the fight happen, I don't think it would be the cakewalk a lot of people seem to think it would be. Mayweather obviously respects Cotto and knows that fighting him is would be more of a risk than people think, so he'll let the hype build and when the fight is HUGE, he'll sign to fight Cotto.

 

Most people didn't view that fight as a questionable win. Most people just saw Zab get pummeled for most of the fight. Right after Zab, Cotto fought Mosely(a bigger name, that brought in more money, and was ranked higher than Zab). He could've fought Zab in April, but I doubt there would've been alot of interest in that fight. If Zab beats Mosely, and looks good doing it, then a fight with Cotto becomes marketable.

Paulie beat a guy who got the belt because Hatton was stripped of it theres no lineage there ... he never fought for it and for that matter I considered that belt up for grabs. It was just like fighting for a vacant belt. Malignaggi was not a top 10 ranked opponent when he fought N'dou.

Please don't go there with Quintana who's just holding that belt for someone to come take it.

 

You added that last part after I responded. I'm not trying to make a statement as far as how good any of these guys are. You asked how many of them beat a title holder to win their belt and I answered.

 

What does Julio have to do with anything -- he has yet to get a title shot.

Quintana beat 2 up and comers no legit or true champions

Shane Mosley hasn't beat anyone since DLH -- He lost to Forrest 2wice and to Winky 2wice, he beat some no named contenders, a faded Vargas, and an unknown Louie Collazo. -- ohh and no titles since 03'

That doesn't look better for Cotto (only if you know **** about boxing)

Malignaggi lost to N'godu but got a gift -- he's going to lose that paper title soon, very soon, along with Quintana.

I like Quintana but he's not yet credible...

People say Floyd ducked Hatton who was the true light welterweight champion at the time he beat Gatti and just last year he beat him to solidify that. No matter if they say Hatton was too small whatever, it wouldve been the same result at 140.

No matter what people say about Hatton he still has the ring magazine belt and his only loss was at 147. (1-1 at welter)

 

Castillo has nothing to do with it .... Johnston had the Ring Magazine title along with the WBC strap and he only had 1 L on his resume at the time when he fought Castillo.

You also have to account for the trainers too!

Evangelista will be intimidated (just like Billy Graham was) and will be nervous granted that this will be his first big superfight and he has no other prominant boxer in the sport besides Cotto and non before Cotto. He's very new to this just as Cotto is ...

On the other hand Roger Mayweather has been doing this for years and being a former 2-time champion himself knows what it takes to remain on top and the mistakes the fighters make to fall off the ladder so he will prepare lil Floyd properly and remind him that Cotto has never seen anyone like him and that he's seen Cotto style plenty of times before.
