    Sad...

Hold your heads up Pinoys, that Donaire guy is ****ing good... he can probably take on the 126 guys.

Montiel's got a ton of heart for getting up from that shot.

Donaire is the truth. Incredible win over credible opponent.

Congrats to all the pinoy fans out there

Na not really I've always had much more respect for Donaire than Pacquiao and not a fan of Montiel he mostly falls short in big fights and has no defense. Donaire has always been the man against the grain honest with what he says even if Pacquiao's fans don't like it and has been underappreciated even by Filipinos, but maybe after today not anymore.

He doesn't try to fight like Pacquiao he fight's more like a Floyd, but with power. To me Montiel was always a hard puncher, but abit overrated. Like Kellerman said, I agree Donaire has proven time and time again he belongs in the top 4 p4p with Pacquiao, Mayweather, and Martinez. Fights in the future with Mares, Perez, Agbeko, and especially Darchinyan will be highly anticipated and if Donaire can get past any or all of those 4 which there is a high chance, he can claim p4p by taking on Gamboa or Lopez. Nonito is the complete package and no longer has to be in Pacquiao's shadow. It's great to see a new star being born. In what was supposed to be a competitive fight, Nonito showed he was leagues above Montiel. Can't wait to see him fight again.

That's why Nonito has been ducked by top fighters. he has got serious skill and power! He's like mayweather + Pacquiao. And arum already planning him against juanma and gamboa? IMO it's still premature for nonito. He'll have to beat top 122 guys first before feeding them to top 126ers.

Not true. Pinoys love winners. They love both Pac and Nonito. Nonito is genuine Pinoy.

Montiel's a great champion. We hosted his fight in the Philippines, he was a good guy.
Laid back, gracious and friendly but still you knew he would give it all he got come fight night.

    Better luck next time.

Montiel's defense (or lack thereof) is what sunk him tonight. Did he learn nothing from watching the Darchynian vs Nonaire tape? Montiel had his hands down from the start of the fight, instead of having them high. Going up against such a fast fighter like Donaire keeping hands low is just a matter of time before you get ko'd and Montiel found that out tonight.

His new aggressive style of fighting is also what caused him to loose. The way he used to fight in a much smarter defensive, yet boring style is the way he should of approached this fight and maybe the outcome would of been different. It would of been a less exciting fight but Montiel would of been in better control. I thought he was a smarter fighter than this.

^Donaire's left hook is his money shot, why in the hell did montiel put his left arm so low???montiel might be baiting nonito to come forward by putting his left arm low and land his own counter, but donaire is so damn fast that montiel under estimated nonito. and worst of all montiel underestimated nonito's counter left hook, that made him the fight.

Darchinyan VS Donaire, I smell an Upset...
I like Darchinyan, I like KO artist, I like fighters who fights anybody. I've seen a Bunch of Darchinyan fights. Even rate him top of the 112 & top 15 P4P.

I've seen only about 3 fights of Nonito in youtube. But I met the guy & his Brother Glen personally twice at a Party & we talk a lot about Boxing. He said he beat Jason Litzau in the Amateur. Also they thought that they we're robbed by the Judges when he fought Viloria in the Olympic trials. He is supposed to be lined up against Arce but Arce lost to mijares. That's why I'm not surprised when I heard he got This title shot.

Based on my observation Donaire is very skillfull, quick with his hands & feet, has some Power, full of confidence, very smart, in short he's the Filipino version of PBF. Personality wise this guy are way different than his Brother Glen who is the Shy or low key guy. Nonito, in the Parties that we've been in, is the light of the dancefloor. He dances all night long proves he has an endless stamina. Good dancer too means he has good Hand, eye & feet coordination.

The only question is... can he handle Vic's Power?? I ask his cornermen if he has a good chin, they say he was woobled once but recovered & KO the opponent shortly.

I've seen replay of the dachinyan-Pacheco fight, in this fight Pacheco was outboxing Vic, Then the fireworks interrupt the fight, Vic recovered & KOed Pacheco shortly. Pacheco is one of the tallest fighter Vic has fought.

The reason I smell upset is because Nonito is a Legit 5'6" & a half. he's quicker & he can move. Vic will have a hardtime finding him. Nonito has a lethal left hook & I see them landing everytime Vic tries to attack. I don't think Darchinyan can be KOed, but I see Donaire outboxing him in a lopsided fashion. Kinda like what Mijares did to ARce.
