Andy Lee and Craig McEwan are in the ring for the "Celtic War".

 

Round 1

McEwan comes in fighting tall but keeping his hands a bit low. Lee catches him with a ripping counter right hook that stuns McEwan. Lee is sliding his feet back and staying in advantageous positioning with his feet (lead just inside McEwan's) and firing right hooks. McEwan tries to cut the ring off with straight lines of movement and his southpaw jab. Lee is cheating his body off to the left and making himself a small target. McEwan catches him with a lead left but Lee takes it better than McEwan took his hooks.

Round 2

Lee is firing hard right jabs from the outside and bringing the left cross through whenever McEwan lingers too long in front of him. When McEwan tries to jab him back, Lee seizes advantage of the opening and plunks a right hook on his ear. McEwan gets in close and grabs Lee, and works some body punches before the break. McEwan is slinging some hard punches now, working the left straight behind his jab and connecting some. Lee digs a left to the body. Hard 1-2 by McEwan during an exchange. Lee throws a jab to the chest and then spanks McEwan under the ribs with a left. McEwan battles him to the ropes and lands a right hook.

Lee still looks sharper technically but McEwan really dug down and outfought him. 19-19.

 

Round 3

McEwan is up-jabbing and walking Lee down and trying to just touch him with whatever he can, reaching inside with lots of soft shots. Lee is just sliding back and keeping his right stick out. McEwan is moving his head out of the way of a lot of jabs but isn't very accurate himself. Lee is putting his earmuffs on but is getting rocked by the sheer force of a lot of McEwan's flurries.
