Everyone talks about their first and 3rd fight but less so on the second.

So what was the build up like? Who were the bookies favoring? What were the general public opinion? Did they think Ali would win or Fraizer make it 2-0? Basically I;d like folks to give more info on their rematch.

My Grandfather told me once that he remembered the pre-fight odds for Ali - Frazier 2 as 3-2 for Ali to win. He thought Muhammad Ali would win by Decision and he placed his bets accordingly. (Ali to win, and 12 rounds as the distance it would go.) He also mentioned that most of the boxing people he knew thought Ali would win the fight. He only knew one guy who thought Frazier would win again. He had belonged to an Investment Club that met in Hammonton, New Jersey at that time. Together, they owned Shares in Joe Frazier, which they sold right after Joe Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali the first time.

My Grandfather used to chuckle about it as one of the few good investment decisions they ever made. He said they lost their shirts and shorts in an investment in a Canadian Mining Company. (I believe he said it was called Consolidated Canadian Faraday.) Hahaha.

Consolidated Chuvalo Mining Co. turned out to be unprofitable because they only mined granite to use in his chin.
