im the guy in yellow. thanks for any feedback! 0-2 now after this fight. i posted my last fight a while ago. i havnt fought in a year but this one i was trying to be more offensive. as of now i think i should be more aggressive and just go back to just coming forward but trying to slip at the same time. i did it once or twice during this fight but i also need to learn to go to the body, uppercuts and short hooks and uppercuts. i need to build an arsenal any advice would really help! round 1 http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=TpOJX_0iebY round 2 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-_I2rmOIgE[/ame] round 3 [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cD5JB6eGAFU[/ame]
cant really gauge your skills on this one as it turned into a slugfest, quite a fast pace. i think you took as much you landed. but remember keep those hands up, when you connected you stood there admiring your work rather than get out range and got countered a few times.
i lost this one by a close decision at the end. thansk lepinthehood yea it turned into a slug fest, thats what he wanted. i wanted to just box. but good stuff, yea i noticed a few times i admired my work, bad habit. thanks for the feedback guys
if I was you I would try to fight more often. A friend of mine went 0-5, and then went on the win 35 fights straight.
That's brilliant. My friend has had a similar run, now I don't see him losing. OP remember to keep your hands up, you did good though. You have a good set of skills, just got to defend better to adapt to scoring system.
thanks guys. yea its the scoring system im not understanding i think. i lost my first fight by decision also, a decision i felt was fair because i knew he landed better shots. I dont know its only clean punches that get scored, but what else?
I am pretty sure only clean headshots count for point, and nothing else. Even though body shots arent counted, when used they can be very effective in slowing your opponent down.
yeah you lost because you fought his fight. when he gets inside he seems to land many shots on ya, instead of staying you should have tried to circle around. but both of you have some nice technique in the punches! gratz!
thanks again guys, yep im gonna continue to work on all the things youve said. I also need an inside game so ive been wrorking on tucking my elbows in and short upper cts and hooks. my next fight will be fun im going to want to try and fight on the inside instead of allowing myself to be tied up
Your good mate but you had a small problem, you were playing his game. Which was a disadvantage to you to be honest. You have a lot of speed and could easily set up alot of counter shots but instead you were running for him. Don't Run in and swing a punch at the same time, its good to quickly throw punches but you also must be in the position that if you get hit by a counter you can still stay on your feet or else hes going to use your weight against you. Dont worry bout the loss, its amateurs go there for the experience
