2x Fury, 2x aj, 2x Dubois, 2x Chisora, 2x undisputed champion. Is this top 5 ?

A select few may not agree that Usyk should be a top 10 Heavyweight of all time and may believe he is a tad overrated especially with people calling him "The GOAT" but they still give him his props and recognize his greatness.

Again why are you bringing up nationality in a individual sport ? Trying to make that an issue when there isn't one.

No one cares where you come from if you're great and have proved yourself people will give you your props it's as simple as that.

Trying to insinuate that this is a nationality issue because not everyone agrees about Usyk is utterly baffling and quite silly from you to be quite frank.

Why do you think British boxers are favored by judges in fights in Britain?

And what exactly does that have to do with anything with what I said above ?

You're suggesting fans who may have slight disagreement about how Usyk is rated is down to them disliking Usyk because of where he comes from it's an utterly a ridiculous take end of.

Basically what you're saying is if no one agrees with you then they dislike Usyk because he's from Ukraine ?

Do you know how ridiculous you sound ? Imagine if everyone thought like you when you disagreed about how a fighter is rated.

It's an individual sport who cares where a fighter comes from.....

If people said usyk was one of the best boxers this century and an ATG, but not the actual Goat? then I guarantee he would get much less backlash

He is great, but he is not the goat. Others dominated a higher level of opposition and got hit much less in the process. Look at the opposition guys like Ali, Leonard, Duran, Lewis, Holyfield Manny, Floyd etc have faced. Go back further and look at Robinson, Armstrong, Greb etc

It's disrespectful to call him THE goat with less than a dozen top wins. He has done amazing in such a short time and is kind of unique in that aspect, but he is not the goat. Of course some can and will have this opinion, but not many

We were told long and hard Usyk would never become HW champion in this era and that he was just too small to beat these giants who weren't just going to be too big, strong and powerful for him but they were going to knock his block off.

This was the general consensus not only on this forum but among the wider boxing community. There was only a handful of believers who were telling you all he possessed everything required to slay these giants and few took us seriously.

But not only did Usyk go on to prove the tiny minority right and the vast majority badly wrong but he did so on a deck heavily stacked against him when in his mid to late 30s when he was already past his prime.

But then they predictably switched up the narrative and have been constantly trying to discredit him, whether it be overtly or more subtly ever since with excuse after excuse. It's sad really, especially considering he's one of the most likeable, humble, respectful and honourable fighters to ever grace a ring and the fearless, admirable and noble way he went about achieving it all

Cue the endless fantasy match ups to try and discredit him which is the only thing they can draw upon to help them cope.

And obviously if and when he does lose they will ever so conveniently ignore his age and decline whilst simultaneously they hand out free passes to every single one of the greats and favs from previous eras they claim he is so vastly inferior to for their losses at a younger or much younger age

The boxing gods bless us with a truly great and utterly fearless fighter who is one of, if not the, most honourable fighters of all time who has not put a foot wrong and has done everything asked of him, everything you could ask of any fighter, and he's done it all the right way and still they resent him and are full of bitterness and are loathe to give him his flowers.

It is a certainty in 20 years no ones having someone with single digit HW wins in their GOAT conversation. They just aren't. The only reason Usyk gets that praise is hes "current" and maybe cause he has the 0 a little bit. But people see through the 0 with Marciano they'll see through it this time.

    Agreed
I love khabib who was way more dominant than usyk, hardly lost a round in mma, but the longer he is retired, the more he is being diminished

Casuals don't even know who usyk is. They think he is some Russian who beat Fury. It's just recency bias. In 10-20 years he fall farther behind the likes of Ali, Holyfield, Lewis, Holmes etc

Sure he will be remembered as a great fighter, but he will fall in the ward or calzahe category, not up there with Floyd or manny as a great, never mind the true GOATs

For you no one else the fact you have to insinuate its about nationality when most people in this thread have had balanced opinions is more of a you issue.

Frazier took Ali’s 0, and Ali was looking somewhat like his old self by then. Just saying, FOTC Frazier might well be able to beat Usyk. Not at all ridiculous to say he could.

Fury is, and always was, far better than Wilder or AJ. I’m American and would like for Wilder to be up there, but he ain’t.

When Fury beat Wlad and Wilder, people were saying "Fury is the beast heavyweight ever". When Usyk beat Fury, people started saying "Fury isn't that good, this era is weak".

I'm a fanboy and I have never said Fury was the best ever. always said he would get smashed by Lewis and Tyson, but would give some aa competitive fight and may beat some smaller great's

Fury was never close to the heavyweight GOAT and neither is anybody he has fought
