does it play out the same way the first one did? I think it starts slower, but becomes a full blown slug fest by round 4 and we go to a close dec. I know Mike has heart, but Rios's will to win is nuts. Looking forward to it... Thoughts?
Another meaningless rematch... Brandon stops him much sooner this time. (A waste of a fight for both guys, a step back)
Alvarado will try to outbox Rios this time, but will still end up getting into a brawl at some point. He'll last longer but it won't go the distance.
Pretty similar to how Salido-Lopez played out. Alvarado will try to outbox Rios but get tagged too often again and probably get stopped. Entertaining first bout, but lose-lose for Rios who adds nothing to his resume at the new weight.
The last fight was the real fight of the year and it had a bad stoppage, no one trashes Arum like me but I'm looking forward to it.
Alvarado felt he got stopped early and for the most part winning the fight and also seemed to be the harder puncher of the 2. It's when he started brawling and trying to match Bam Bam's crazy pace that's what did him in. Alvarado already has proved he's an offensive machine especially behind a jab. If Alvarado boxes, lands bombs, and clinches, like what Mosley did with Margarito, he can win by decision or even stop Rios. Rios was hurt pretty bad by Alvarado several times. I can sense a trilogy as a result. Alvarado I think won't be an easy hump for Rios to get over Alvarado still is the bigger fighter and harder puncher of the 2. I think since both don't have much of a defense whoever really opens up first may be the winner if they decide to go toe to toe again.

Pretty much this. Not sure if Rios stops Alvarado in a rematch, might be closer in a rematch, but regardless.... a pointless fight. And if it turns into another brutal war, it makes it that much more senseless of a fight for Rios to have taken. Taking that much damage for a pointless rematch.
Where is the source? I don't think its as meaningless as people make out. It could well be that Rios ends up stopping him again (personally I hope he does, I really like Brandon) but in all honesty in that first fight Alvarado could have won it if he had taken a knee rather than just exchange on the ropes when he was hurt. Either way, it'll get the hype for the right reasons, and what if Alvarado does pull off the win? We probably get another fight to make it a trilogy and another awesome trilogy to fawn over, can't really complain can we? Why anyone wouldn't want to see a re-match between the fight of the year for 2012 I'll never know...
Thank you ! I've been saying this and Ive been getting bashed for it. Let's see these two against other top 140's. Bob's buying Bam Bam time.
